Tranz X has launched the high‐torque M25GT, a M16 central motor, and the superlight F15 front motor. The line of motors packages efficiencies between 77 % and 82 %. All are relatively noiseless, compatible with coaster breaks, and supported by an RPM sensor and controller. Each comes equipped with Logi X technology based on CAN.

The M25GT can be integrated into the e-bike's frame and is then nearly invisible. With this feature, the company wants to set a new benchmark in the aesthetics of e-bike systems. The motor has an output of 400 W and a maximal torque of 27 Nm. With it, a speed of 45 km/h can be reached, before the motor gently regulates the speed. The whole module weighs 4,08 kg and has a noise level of 70 dB.

With the diagnostic platform Logi X, motor performance is monitored steadily and automatically through a variety of debugging mechanisms – supported by continuous system read-outs and immediate error detection. The first in the company’s portfolio to incorporate the technology is the M25 central motor.

Based on CAN technology, Logi X uses fewer cables, provides a higher data transmission speed than the I2C bus, is less susceptible to system breakdowns, and ensures extendibility and system openness through multi-host architecture. E-bike servicing and assembly are made easier, and parameters such as assistance ratio and the AGT shifting strategy are simply adjusted.

With the diagnostic platform, computer based diagnostics are possible, as are faster, more stable data transmissions between the e-bike components. It is an all-in-one service tool for diagnostics, parameter tuning, programming, and integrated service procedures. It is also an interface for future accessories and apps, for example GPS and smartphones, allowing riders to sync their devices with relevant stem data while riding. Indicators such as traveling speed, pedaling support level, battery status, and an assessment of the battery’s capacity and the expected riding distance are all transmitted to the connected device. It can also self-test and print a diagnostic report via a USB connection, allowing bicycle mechanics to diagnose possible issues.

The JD Group headquartered in Taiwan develops and manufactures electric bike drive systems and bicycle components under the trade name Tranz X. Tranz X was launched in 1992. Today, the company employs more than 4000 specialists in its subsidiaries in Taiwan, China, Japan, Germany, and the US, including three manufacturing plants in Taiwan and China. Tranz X owns over 150 patents and patents pending, manufacturing mobility products for many bicycle brands around the globe.

I love to see new motors, but I find these very integrated motors to be bad for the customer. A hub motor or a bafang can be removed and easily swapped. These motors (bosch, panasonic, etc) depend heavily on the vendor to provide support.

I don't see an advantage for us in this type of design.

I want to see something easy to work on and easy to swap, especially when you consider that some motor/controller/batteries are worth much more than the bikes.

Considering purchasing a used Sprite iE Step Thru for my wife, it has the TranzX M16 mid drive motor. Does anyone know if there is a speed hack similar to the BBSO2 so that I may remove the 20mph restriction?

Hi , I’ve got the Raleigh Strada TSE with the Tranzx M16 GT motor. I recently moved the speed sensor as can be seen in my video below on YouTube

I now achieve speeds of nearly 31 mph.
Reliability after nearly a year’s use and 1500 miles cycled is 100% , no issues.
