I am going to buy the E-Bike parts off this bike for $350. Does this seem like a good deal?

It is a 48V frame mounted battery and a BBS02 mid drive motor. I'd by the whole bike for 900 but the frame is too large for me (20" frame and I am only 5'6").

Thought I would ask for a second opinion before I shelled out 350 bucks.

Thanks in advance.

Used is always kind of a crapshoot, especially battery. But this seems like a pretty reasonable deal. Especially if you can test ride the bike or at least see and hear it running before purchase. New equivalent e-bike parts would set you back about a grand... so you'd save enough $$ that even if you need to replace battery at some point in future you could come out ahead.

Short answer -- If it were in my town I'd go look at it, and if it appeared and sounded good I'd probably buy the electrics.

If the parts are already taken off is it still possible to listen for issues (grinding etc.)?

yes you could plug it all together and carefully operate motor on the bench

If I recall correctly, when you test the components off the bike...
the system will work with throttle input, but may show an
error code on the display meaning something like "no signal from
speed sensor" -- i.e., the little magnet that mounts on the spokes
isn't passing by the signal pickup and generating signal.
Might be Error 21 if I remember right?
Not a problem, and you might be able to fool it simply by
hand waving the magnet back and forth by the senor.

Yeah error 21 is the speed sensor. It still works as a zero load test though.

Thank you for the replies, it is appreciated.

Ended up buying the whole bike. Little big on me but for what I plan on using it for it will be good. Rode it to work this morning, was awesome. :D

That's great!
Funny thing I've been noticing about bike sizing.
In an electric bike I actually like a bit larger frame than I would in a pure pedal bike.
So that bike might turn out to be perfect size.
