The most comfortable saddle you've ever owned?

So I'm getting sick of the uncomfortable MTB saddles that pains my arse and was wondering if any of you have had the same issues and managed to find your​ dream seat? I'm thinking something gel but the selection is absolutely insane. There's just so much to choose from! :shock:

So what is the most comfortable saddle you've ever owned and would you recommend it? Cheers
 
Every arse is different, so every rider has a favourite saddle. The one that another rider likes, is very unlikely to please you. Yet, generally you ride an ebike without much weight on the pedals, so the saddle need to be bigger than the one that you like on a pedal bike. Look for cruiser saddles, those that are wide with padding and springs, that should be the kind that let you find the shape that suits you.
 
I've been delighted with the comfort, quality and value for money of the Kutook spring saddle I purchased via Aliexpress. I have just fitted a second one on my young daughters ebike, and she loves it as well.
Also has a very useful handle under the back of the saddle for lifting and maneuvering the bike, and its really strong.
Highly recommended..!

What I think of as my favorite saddle can vary day by day. But one saddle I got, just to check it out for the shop, has become a mainstay for me. I have it on several of my bikes. I've also put a bunch of other folks on it with great results. It's the Cloud 9 Cruiser Select Airflow, with elastomer springs.

When I got it, this saddle seemed too wide in the nose and too soft for good ride comfort, but it has a huge opening in the middle that prevents any cushioning from pushing where it shouldn't. It's reasonably priced, too. My shop charges $28 for it.

Stay away from noseless saddles like you'd avoid one-sided handlebars-- the saddle nose is important for controlling the bike; it's how your​ legs help your arms keep the bike upright and stable. Noseless is fine for barstools, but it's not for bikes.
 
I used to be a fan of the wtb saddles but i just recently upgraded to a cloud9 and i have to say it is amazingly comfortable!

I tried a bunch. Some costing 3 times the price of this one. They were all crap. Been using this for 6 years now, and it's still as good as new with about 25K miles on it.

I have this cushy rear spring seat off a fiji bike.. bought it when i was 270lbs.. i still like it at 170lbs.

The bigger, the fatter, the better at high speed.

, I have a Selle Royal Respiro on a Suntour NCX SP12 from https://www.bike-discount.de. Fantastic combination. At first I thought the elastomer spring under the seat are a joke, but they're amazingly effective. The NCX SP12 was the crowning glory. bike-discount.de is a real sore with the current EU to USD rate! .89/1.00
 
Wellll,,,, Theres the most comfortable, and the most comfortable after 60 mile on it. Two very different things.

I have taken to preferring a saddle with real springs of some kind, for bikes without suspension. Not the gel spring, but a real coil that does move a half inch or so under a big bump. Some padding but not too much, and not an over thick gel pad that squirms around under you. Just stiff foam. In my hot climate, I definitely prefer a spandex type cover to any vynil seat. Some sweat can get into the seat, but also, rain. Rain less a problem here so I like the spandex.

On the suspension bikes, I like a much narrower saddle, but not a super skinny, preferably with a vent slot up the center.

That was the tightest and smallest 'saddle' (otherwise known as a 'seat'. . . ). I wonder if that is coincidence or nah?

Yeah, I'm wondering the correlation between pedaling on a narrow saddle (4 U), VS a fat padded one, and the size of the petunia doin the pedalin.
 
I don't use saddles anymore, so I don't know what's current.

Well thats a tid bit thats good to know.
Good to have the ball scratcher V on the seat, I've been tempted to buy one without it.
The seats I like or cushy, and springy. Wanted to always try a suspension seatpost with a springy seat.

I dont mind the Townie seat, buts it doesnt have the springs, its more like a rubber I guess.
My other bike has a seat I like better then the Townie, but I weight 350lbs am 6'5" tall and I have very large hands ;)
