I like this idea.

Its good for quick trips into the grocery store, corner store, fast food joint where you still keep a close eye on your rig, but not as close as say leaning your bike up to the window, with no ignition key but strictly throttle, & no U-lock locked to wheel. Or in some of my cases, the battery and wheel were heavy the having the key alone was the same as installed a U lock to the wheel.

There's got to be something doable that can just lock the wheel.

Anyone got some key terminology I could use for my searches.

Mechanical lock activated by a junk yard auto solenoid was what I was thinking.
Locking both front and rear tires, through the rims and spokes or disc caliper.

12V Door Lock Solenoid - $5 - https://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4712.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X12V+door+lock+solenoid.TRS0&_nkw=12V+door+lock+solenoid&_sacat=0

I cant see me fiddling with cell all the time when out n aboot
So a basic on/off key setup can only assume wiring it straight up to 12V.
Mounting it, in such a way that a rod can slip through the spokes.
10mm stroke seems to be the average

I talked to a guy who designed an automatic frame lock that locked through the wheel. He said they made it unlock when you return, but they didn’t think they should make it automatically lock in case some glitch made it lock while riding. I guess they didn’t want to risk the liability.
