hi guys could someone help please!

i have a 48v 20ah lifep04 battery attached to my ebike which i don intend to use anymore. however i would like t use the battery for another application.

could this battery power a Turnigy RotoMax 150cc Size Brushless Outrunner Motor web reference https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-rotomax-150cc-size-brushless-outrunner-motor.html

if it can, then how long for? if it can't, why not?

Yes it could but the battery probably can't supply the amps that the motor can take (190A max.). So you need to know what the continuous and max. amperage is that your battery can deliver and program the controller/ESC to that. But than it would be wiser and cheaper to buy a smaller motor that matches your battery better.

It's a brushless motor which means it needs a controller that will power the motor. As long as you use a controller that doesn't draw more amps than the battery is capable of, there's no reason it won't work. Just be aware that most lifepo4 batteries aren't capably of anywhere near the 190A rating for that motor.

with a 48v controller no larger than 30 amps, yes.
