Coiled power cable?

Hey guys,

I run my ebike battery in my backpack, with a hole poked in the bottom for the power cable.

My problem now is there is a fine line between the cable being too long and dangling over the rear wheel, or too short and disconnecting if i stand up on the bike.

So i wanted a coiled cable to solve the problem.

But where do you find this cable?? The poster who posted the photo just said 'look on ebay' and ive searched and can't find it!

Has anyone seen where to buy this?

The problem is not finding some, it is finding some big enough.

If you are not feeding high power, you can use power tools spring coiled wire, that would usually be 16/3, 14/3 if you are lucky.

Ideally, you’d be using 10/2, or 8/2. That might be much harder to find, but with the proper PVC insulation hardness you could probably coil it yourself with a heat gun. Alternatively, coiled extension cords are available 10 ga, but the coil size is usually 4 inch.

Hi.
I couldn't find a coiled cable either.
I'm using 10 AWG wires coming out of the backpack, wrapping around to the front and looped through the backpack's belt buckle.
The cable connects to a plug attached to the bike's top tube.
I used 2 zip ties to attach a piece of elastic rubber to the wires. The elastic pulls on the wires giving an effect similar to a coiled cable.

Avner.

I started running mine out to the front and it seems easier to deal with the slack, but I saw a guys build on here where he made his own spiral cord by running the wires thru a long heat shrink tube, wrapping it around a broom handle, and then hitting it with a heat gun to shrink it, leaving a nice coil afterwards.

Yep. You can make one yourself. Some wire insulation type too, can retain the coil shape after being heated while tightly coiled.
