Secret bag in the bike

Hello all

I wanted to share one thing I've discovered I think would be useful.

My bike looks like this:

When I go to work, or when I go out, it's parked outside in broad view of people. Lots of pick pocket. Lots of casual thieves.

I've created an under bag to put some of my valuable stuff:

You can see it's hidden below the brown bag, which would be empty and the main focus for thieves.

I tried it for few days and my power bank has been protected from rain and from thieves so far, even thought staying out all day (I covered with rain cover only)


I'm planning to add a bigger bag below to be able to put permanently the rain cover, screwdriver, rain trousers and few more bits! No need to carry a backpack anymore and to worry about anything!

Do you also do something like this? If not, time to consider

Well now the thieves who look over this thread, will know how to steal your stuff.

Also did you ever manage to pop a wheelie?

Ahah non way thieves are not smart enough.

You know, the thing you wanted to do a few years back.

You could put mouse traps or charged up capacitors in the outer bag pockets.

Or maybe fluorescent dye like the kind banks use for robberies. Then ride around with a UV light and find who's been trying to steal your stuff.

With 10 inches suspension travel set with a lot of sag, my bike at rest is looking like it does belong to a giant. Thieves are scared of it.

Most of the time it is not locked, with my shirt and gloves on the handlebar. There’s always some curious looking at it, that doesn’t help a thief feeling confident either.

What about bringing it in with you?

That's what I'm doing now and it's not as convenient to carry a backpack all the time!
