150mm X 15mm Thru with 36h Drilling

Post by jktobin1 » Jul 16 2018 9:49am

Hey guys I'm looking for advice to try and solve my hub situation. I'm making a dirt bike style electric bike so I will not have a freewheel in the rear. I plan to have it be a direct drive system. After doing some research and seeing what others are doing I plan to use a front bike hub and mount my sprocket to the 6 bolt rotor mount. However, I am in need of a 150mm wide hub that will support a 15mm through axle and have 36 spoke holes. I don't believe this exists based on the last couple hours of research. The rim I plan to use is a the Yamaha play bike rim http://www.prowheelracing.com/yamaha-pl ... -19-black/. I have seen this used in the past but I can't seem to find any threads with someone doing the same thing. Does anyone know if this is something that I can purchase and just cant find? Or should I start looking at custom machining one? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Onyx Racing fat bike hub, should fit your requirements.
Make it fool-proof, and I will make a better fool.

The Rear of your bicycle has 150 mm wide spacing with a axle of 15 mm ?

Most Bicycles I have seen have 12 mm axles , and they are 142/143 , 148, and 177 mm spacing .

Interested in seeing what frame you have , looks like a good project for loose dirt and sandy areas.

The Onyx hub is perfect! Thank you! I am building a custom bike from the ground up but I bought the swingarm from vector ebike to make things a little easier for me. After receiving the swingarm and taking measurements it looks like I need a 150mmx15mm hub. I thought it sounded a little weird at first too but I am going to be sending a lot of power through it so the bigger size will be beneficial.

I thought that you were talking about a Thru-Axle bike.

Vector E-Bike rear swing arms are slotted only ?

or do they now have a thru-axle design like this for the rear swing arm ... https://www.dtswiss.com/en/products/hubs-rws/rws/15-mm/
or for a Rear hub 12 mm version ...https://www.jensonusa.com/DT-Swiss-RWS- ... gII4_D_BwE

I Would like to see more e-bike frames with the rear thru-axle so called now dropouts , for people wanting to use a mid-drive.
