Longueuil is testing an electric bike share program (PBSC). Montreal has the tried and true Bixi bike share program but they're not electric assist. Anyone try the PBSC ebikes in Longueil?

They are the same that will be offered in Montreal this fall. They are testing the cost and maintenance requirements.

I have seen some riding, didn’t try them. Not my kind of ride but I believe they will be a success. Personnally, my ebikes are not replacing bicycles, they are replacing motorcycles.

There doing something similar out here too. Minus the electric assist, but minus the docking stations too.

Old news now.

Why do they have to look so dorky?

The idea is that frame and all components are exclusive and identifiable, nothing is standard with the bicycle industry. This is to prevent that some people use them as an unlimited free source of spare parts.

Calgary is getting Limebike.

Bixi must have the battery inside the frame.

Pedelec in Eau Claire Market has $15/hour minimum 2 hour ebike rental.
Bowness Cycle rents ebikes $95/day
Wonder what the deposit or credit card authorization is on them.

I read that only 50 will be in service for a test, supposed to start mid august I recall. The real ebike access program should be integrated to Bixi next year.
