Hi. I bought a 48v 1000w rear hub kit on ebay for building an ebike but I want to build a 52 battery pack for it. My concern is that a 52v battery pack is pretty much 59V when fully charged, lets assume 60v for safety reasons. the controller says for 36v-48V
26 plus minus 1 A. Anyways a 48v battery pack is 54.6V when fully charged. Have anyone tried this on this Chinese type of controller. I won't be fully charging all the time. I know that battery packs last long when you charge 80-90%, that's the reason I want to go 52 so, charging to 80-90% will give me same performance but won't be that hard on the battery. Just fully charge twice a month for balancing purposes. can anyone help. Thank

The only way to know for sure is to open the controller and look to see if the components are rated for enough voltage. But it probably will be ok... Most have capacitors that are enough over 58.8v.
