Replacement motor controller help

So my motor controller has been acting up and I have a feeling it's not going to be fixable. I have a cyclone middrive on my bike and was using the 60 volt 40 amp controller that came with it. I looked on luna cycle's website and they normally sell for $50, but they are out of stock. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement controller that costs around the same and has the same if not more power? I don't mind paying extra for something better built. My concern is that the motor seems to have weird wire connections that aren't universal, can I just snip off the connectors from the old controller and crimp it onto the new one to make it work? Thanks for any advice :)

I looked through their site and couldn't find the matching controller unfortunately. :( Would upgrading to a programmable controller be a significant upgrade from the stock one?
