If you have the time and the patience, this guy gives a pretty decent lecture on synchronous machines. Which, I believe is what hub motors/RC motors are, except that they use magnets to establish the magnetic field on the rotor, instead of a DC current. And the rotor is outside the stator, not inside. Hoping I am not wrong on that, don't want to confuse anyone
You'll need some background in electrics to understand everything, although he goes over the basic concepts first. If you are so inclined, you can always look for a lecture on electrics :wink:
