Let's have a look inside the Adaptto Mini-E motor controller.

It's pretty simple. Simple is good. :)

The heat-path looks like it has some low-hanging fruit available, but using those absurdly good FETs likely means it's not needed.

Are they clustering the FETs instead of putting them in a long line to reduce inductance...like Lebowski's DIY advanced design controller?
I would say yes to that. I like how they put the caps directly underneath the FETs. Makes for a good low impedance path.

Just to put it out there, I'm a big fan of these enclosures for weather sealing and thermal management.

Very nice. Any close-up shots of the BMS boards?

I'll post some in a few days. Been busy the past few days.

Did you get a chance to take any more pictures?

Do you guys know which chips they are using on the balance boards? I'm a techie so I'd like to read the data sheets to see what the limits are on these chips. Looks like there is a larger chip on the end, and a smaller chip on each 4S section.

Posted BMS pics here: http://imgur.com/a/Pgpkr#0 ... since the forum doesn't handle high res images that well.

The main BMS board is a 24MHz, ST Cortex M3 processor: http://www.st.com/web/catalog/mmc/FM141/SC1169/SS1031/LN775/PF216837
Part of this family: http://www.st.com/web/catalog/mmc/FM141/SC1169/SS1031/LN775/PF216837
Powerful little guy. Makes me wonder why they're not using the same micro for the inverter. Perhaps I missed it?

The other chip on the BMS daugther boards is a TI msp430f2013: http://www.ti.com/product/msp430f2013
The package markings are:
F2013
1AK G4
D21Z6

I wonder if Adaptto is having IC supply issues being that they're in Russia? I have no idea on this kind of thing.

Please, does anyone know the value of R32 resistor? it will help me a lot. Thank you

i got 1.992k ohm for R32.

anyone know what the value of the smds on the power board are, R1, R2 and R3?
one (visible) is a 03B, which is 1.05kohm, but others are hidden by the fets, and seem to be different values.
anyone replaced those?

Thank you. Is it marked 202 or just black?

I'd like to help but I cant see them. Can you take a photo where they are?

the R 32 is just black.

never mind thanks, i think i have figured it out. the resistors on the power board are 2k ohm usually.
the 03B/1k ohm one i was looking at was one that adaptto technician repaired, but all the others on that mini-e and on my other mini-e and max-e they are all 2 k ohm(31B). maybe its not actually that critical...?
