Yes inverter is dual separate brain. One for FOC PMSM and second for ACIM motor

I will post design when i am confident bugs are out. :).

Will a VESC run this motor?
If so the BESC seems to fit this motor well.

I don't think it would be possible, because:
1: Stock star formation is 115V (maybe modding to delta may help lowering the voltage)
2: VESCs, afaik, they work with BLDC and BDC motors, didn't saw people testing AC motors with them, but since they're open source maybe someone can make them run AC, who knows...

BESC should be able to do 150v. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=97765
From the pictures I thought the e-assist 2 motor was a delta configuration. There are only 3 connections, no?

I thought the Axiom guys were working on controlling other types of motors and were pushing the code back into VESC. I still don't have the clarity or understanding of what's what yet.

I was hoping to use the e-assist 2 motor with something like the BESC for a few projects. Glad to see people are still working with this motor. I haven't heard anyone mention VESC with it yet.

Well, Jrbe, from what i tried to research, VESCs can indeed run AC Induction Motors like the eAssist one, the problem is that they only can run at open loop, and for real FOC (to work as torque control), it would need a new algorithm to "keep an eye" on what is going with the motor, the flux, the slip and more. Last week i finally managed to trace the weird resolver signal to seemingly good caps. They were from a different series than my usual ceramic caps. I went on and replaced them and i get good resolver signal.
Now the pesky Lacrosse motor is running really good with resolver and 100Vdc battery.
My settings are for 8pole motor and 2pole resolver.

That is so great to see the motor running. I have my sitting on the table for almost 2 years. What kind of inverter you have connected to it?

Volt inverter with replaced brain - Openinverter V2 with resolver interface.
See my fiddling here: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1032
And more fiddling here: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopi ... 027#p16839

I am preparing to put the design up on github once i eliminate most obvious quirks.
Next i will probably make another board designed with V3 of the brain in mind. And i will possibly use Honda IMA inverter for power section.
Volt inverter is really good for experimenting since it has very broad input voltage and simple 5V interface. But for small application its too bulky. Maybe i will use VW Golf GTE hybrid inverter later on? Important thing is resolver interface works reliably.

Very interested in Honda IMA hack. Would also purchase populated resolver board to make the Honda IMA ( which I already have) conversion. Looking to have a 150V Chevy Volt (Ampera) battery source for my reverse trike build. Great work on making this conversion possible. Thanks for posting all your info.
