Good morning, I am in the process of putting together a lapidary machine and I'm having trouble wiring a motor. Originally I was going to use a vacuum cleaner motor but it is way too fast and loud.
I came across a motor but now I and having trouble wiring the motor. It is a Dayton 6K088 and here is all the information on the motor:
Dayton
Thermally Protected
Model: 6K088 HP: 1 PH: 1
Volts: 115/208-230 CY: 60
RPM: 1725 F.L. AMP: 13 6/6.8
S.F.: 1.25 FR: 66 Date Code: N9 KVA Code: K Time Rating: CONT.
Temp. Rise: 40 C
So from that I was able to gather that it is a motor that's 10 years old, it has the right RPM for what I need, and I should be able to plug it into an outlet. That's where my issue is.
There are a 5 wires that I can see on the motor, they are labeled 2, 4, 5, 8, and 9. There are a few more but I cannot see what they are labeled. Cables 4 and 5 are connected to "LINE 2", Cable 8 is connected to "4", there is nothing connected to "3", and Cable 9 is connected to "6". There are a few other cables connected but I cannot see them at the moment.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on how this could be wired? I've looked online for the manual that would go with this motor but I have not been able to find it. I even called Dayton and they did not have any information on this motor because of its age.
Thanks in advance!
