Really interested in these motors from qs, does anyone have any experience with the 1000 and 2000w versions?
My 1000 has been really happy at 3500w, around 8:1 reduction with a 26in wheel. I don't have a temp gauge but will bump it to 5000w once installed The motor shaft is 17mm nontapered so the 3000 sprockets won't work, I use a 219 sprocket

Thats pretty to good! If it could handle 5-6kw that would be perfect for my application but I'd really need the splined shaft for the 420 sprockets

This is good to know thanks. I know it’s a thread for the larger motors but hell the qs motors are underrated or what. I have the 1000w sitting on a shelf and it’s time to rethink its use. I put myself back n the que for a nuclear controller 12f, 4-5 month wait time.
One question, where did you find the 219 motor sprocket in the 17mm. Staton-Inc. perhaps?
Thanks

hello, be careful the 12F is able to provide 10kW peak. There it is 10x the nominal power of engine. You'll tell us what it does. I have a QS 3kW and it will turn with the Thermonucular 24F.
I'm eager to see how he run.
I preorder this from June.

Thanks for the heads up. I will start out with extremely conservative settings with the nuclear controller for sure. And make sure not to exceed limits that are damaging to the motor. I’m hoping regenerative braking can replace the rear brake and let me just use the disc mount for the sprocket. Keeps the hub/swing arm narrow and the bike more bike-like.

Can you weigh the 1kw? Also will it fit between bicycle cranks?

It’s 174.2 mm in length to the pulley front not including the nut. It comes in at 10 pounds for weight.

Best is to convert 17mm to 3/4”. Or use Denzel 4500 with 12mm shaft and convert that to 3/4”. Then you can use a 12 tooth.

Waouh yeeessss !!
He says 8kW peak but he write 300A peak.
I don't understand !
I think that is 300A peak on motor phases and 8kW nominal...
The ratio is 3,7:1 = 52T/14T

It's the same as the old one, this one has two mounts made into the case instead of the old bolt-on version.
This way you don't need to make an adapter plate like I had to do.

Yes it's the same as mine! This is the Qs motor 3kW. The motor shaft seems different from mine. I think it's for a sprocket 428.

looks like it could do with a few more 'through hole' mounting points... then it could become a structural member of any frame its mounted to.

Here it is now on Amazon. This must mean something if Amazon puts faith in selling some of these. I know it’s a drop ship and they just get a cut but still. Old style Motor case though.

Usually the heat is the problem and not how much volt. But I know for a fact that 96v is not a problem

@Silverline: I’d like to see a plot of noload losses from zero to max rpm with a fully charged 96V battery. It will show if losses are getting too large. Would it be possible to get?
What controller do you use?
