Wondering if anyone has tried one of these kits/ motors?

It's to go in a mongoose cx 450 frame

Or this one

In particular the motor.

I have never used those motors, but i have seen them much cheaper direct from the Chinese sellers ..

Remember those power figures are Peak values !
If you want significant performance, i would look at one of the Cyclone drive motors...
...but then you would need a serious controller and battery :?
It quickly All gets very spendy !

I have tried that motor with a 17:1 gear reduction on a kids ATV, but I used a Kelly Kls Controller. A bit of overkill I know

But my brother wanted it to be powerful enough for himself also :D

Also the China chain is noisy as hell, I don't what it was, something like Tf#8 or whatever.

I got myself this motor: http://www.eastgem.net/d3000.html
or this kit: http://www.eastgem.net/d4500-k-1.html
with a #420 chain and sprocket, and it's not as loud and much tougher

These Motors only work with a square wave Controller though.

I'm not looking for anything too crazy, speed or cost wise for this build... Famous last words? We'll see

Are you saying the motor I linked is noisy or just the chain?
The eastgem looks nice but more than twice the price, especially getting it to Australia
Thanks

Yes, I meant that particular chain or sprocket is noisy. Not the motor itself.

You can get yourself just the motor for 125 usd and a Sunwin Controller off ebay for 45 usd. I currently have that combo, and it's ten times better than that ebay motor for sure. Ofc you have to adapt a sprocket on to it, but that's about it.

Thanks for that.
That could be a good option!
Any idea how this would compare to the similar specced golden motor? That's another one I was considering

Just got an email back from eastgem saying they have discontinued the d3000 but to look at the d4500.
Disappointing as the 4500 is larger and appears to be 1.5kg heavier.
Seems to be getting a bit overkill for this bike...back to the drawing board.

Any other suggestions??
