Universal torque sense

These Stages power meter crank arms output a power signal via bluetooth LE that Garmins and other various bike computers receive and display. Seems like an e-bike controller could be made to receive that same signal and use it for torque sense. Maybe even some of you firmware developers could add this to the open source projects? I know, these are $$, the price of the crank arm alone is more than some e-bike motor kits. But it would be an elegant solution. These should work for both the kits with integrated BB (Bafang and Tongsheng) as well as the Cyclones and X1s. Kits could use these directly (if they had the correct crank arm interface) or adapt the technology into their own setups.
