The XT60 is attached to a 50A BMS and doubles as a charging port. The XT90 will give you the full 120A (160A burst). Very powerful battery! Made with Tenergy cells.

So the XT90 bypasses the BMS for over-current protection? If so should a fuse be fitted?

I assume the BMS OVC and LVC still works, what via a contactor?

Fusing it at 100A may be a good idea in case of accidental shorts resulting from cut cables and whatnot. XT90 equipped inline fuses are easy enough to make, and I can build it if need be. The BMS and all of its protection/balance circuitry are active on the 50A (XT60) leads. The XT90 is the "lipo mode" and will work exactly like a large, high-powered RC lipo setup.

In other words direct pass-through to the bare cells, rely on external controls to protect at the pack level against over- or under- voltage conditions?

If so, cool, nice to have a choice.

Could you build a version maybe without internal BMS, but exposing the cell/group leads?

Can you share the specific cells used?

Confused. That is a pack, not single cells. I assume pouch type?

In your OP pics there are the purple cylindricals showing, are you saying the packs you're selling are not made from those?

Could you link to the actual cells?

Right, thats another battery made with different cells (NCR18650BD). I havent seen the cells Im using being sold individually. These were ordered from an industrial supplier by a University. You can see them here: https://rechargeablebatterystore.com/li-polymer-3-7v-8000mah-15c-8059156-battery/
