my cards are wide open, as iam a part of this ebike community and i like to help and share my experience.
i bought also about 30 controllers from lyen. sure he helps and answers......as along as you are buying.
after that hes turning into lazy. default emails and if there is something going wrong or a controller was defect, he refuse to give you something like warranty.
in my case it was a damn expensive 24fet highspeed controller. i dont want to search the topic with this story, because dont want to waste time about.
whatever. 2-3 Years ago, infineon controllers was something state of the art, and lyen (as we know he is ALWAYS busy with other "projects")
sold thousands of controllers. THOUSANDS......he edited his topic with a list of buyers to show how fine everybody is.
and edited again to hide that he sold alot more....donno why. maybe tax force was behind...whatever
but this is now, and if you compare this oldschool crap square wave stuff to actual controllers like kellys sinewave, sabvoton, GM, Adappto then you will realize what you get for this money.
did you ever searched about this xiechang stuff? greentime?....THIS IS ALWAYS the same stuff. 6 fet controllers for 25 bugs. What did lyen to this Controllers?
because i CANT know in real, i say at least. NOTHING special. if you get in touch with XIECHANG suppliers you can order what you want. in Germany the boards are also complete Cycle analyst compatible, have
big traces and so on....but they dont buy from lyen.
beside that, everyone can buy whatever he want, whereever he want. Its my experience and i share it HERE...because this is a public forum. and not the LYEN WEBSHOP.
Lyen is nice as long as you buy.
for me hes just a reseller and not a part of this great and maybe biggest community. He NEVER reply to an public answer here. Never talk about nothing HERE.
Just using this Forum to Sell his stuff.
AND BELIEVE ME: iam not the only one who think and talk about him in this way.... but as you know in every way of life....most people only think and do nothing.
not even if there are happen bad stuff on streets where they could help......its easier to be quiet and go the own way.
If you sell your stuff over a Forum, you cant only get the sunny side of feedback. You have to live also with criticism.
back to your question: its a question of your needs.
a few weeks ago i bought a kelly for my girlfriend. It has near the size of a 6FET lyen. But there are 12FETs inside and you can squeeze out 90 Battery amps up to 90v.
Means over 8KW of Power without thinking about losing warranty or even damaging something because:
- overheat
- overcurrent
- overtemp
- low voltage cut off
- over voltage
- sine wave
- all throttles on market usable without modifications
- waterproof
- Programming Software (not that hacked stuff where you can KILL your controller with wrong settings!)
- Waterproof connectors including,
- Antispark resistors including
if you have place or a big bike, go with sabvoton or adappto when you want flux options.
we have 2016....
theres NO NEED to give all the risk of a controller to the customer!

lord knows how much damage (I assume the 12v min line connection) did to the 5v powered button (Cable seems fine) in my cable to fry it? Now I have to wait til Lyen is back in Dec to fix it for me...ah well, c'est la vie...
