Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
Referring to the video posted.......
116v at 75-120A from only 32 3.3v batteries?
Also they are headways...where is he getting that sort of amperage from??

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
I believe 116v out of a fleshly charged battery pack is about right. 32*3.3=105.6v & 116-105.6=10.4v over when fully recharged. You can put commentary and questions on his Youtube video to ask as well. The Mighty Volt wrote:Referring to the video posted.......

That's true....but what is the C-Rate of those Headways? 10C? If even!!Lyen wrote:I believe 116v out of a fleshly charged battery pack is about right. 32*3.3=105.6v & 116-105.6=10.4v over when fully recharged. Will this item fit onto your controller and tell me the true speed etc?
Thanks.

Can you clarify what the connector is for? There are only 6 pins being utilized out of the 9 pin connector.

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
I have just looked at it and they have clearly stated it is for the Yamaha XJR 1200 motorcycle. So in order to properly interface to the controller, you have need to query the wiring diagram from the seller or the service manual for the Yamaha XJR 1200 motorcycle. The Mighty Volt wrote:I don't actually know....it's a speedometer for a regular motorbike.

This is what a 12-4115 FET LYEN edition controller can do,

High Tom-D, thanks for your video and feedback. Can you tell me please, what sort of weight are you pulling behind the bike?
Is that a 9C set up? What's the chemistry of your pack?
Cheers.

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
Dear all respective members and buyers,
I have recently noticed there is a couple of competitors who are bad mouthing the high voltage controllers I sell will fail. They are making false statement to lurk potential buyers toward them. I am usually peaceful and quiet until now due to unfair statement made by competitors. I will try not to mention their names to avoid starting fires here.
I have requested for proof of evidence on June 21st, 2010 and received no proof of evidence for the cause of failure as of today.
Update as of August 4th, 2010, the bad wording from that seller has been removed with the help of the forum moderators including Ypedal and other respective forum members. I really appreciate your help.
Your Truly,
Edward Lyen

Where is there proof of a failure Steveo?
Those are two pictures of a modified controller board - Lyen has ask that you present a case for why his version of the controller will fail.

Increasing battery voltage and controller current limit will result in a non linear experience

Wait.....so you submitted two photos, neither of which included the infamous resistor in question??
Ideally, what you should have is video and photographic evidence of a Lyen controller failing.

Just bought one of these, thanks Lyen!
I'll be sure to give a short review once it has arrived.
I plan to use with the Crystalyte HT3525 motor and 25S lipo (104v charged, 92.5v nominal, 75v dead flat).
Cheers, Abraham

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
Just want to mention that I have one Lyen 121445 controller currently driving my rear HT3525 at either 20S 84V (in town) or 30S 126V (outside in the hills), and it works like a charm. Another Lyen 121445 controller just came in and will be used to drive a front 9C 2810 on the same bike. Fun!!
Edward Lyen has been very fast to respond to me. Very good service.

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
What would be the additional charge to do the mods Steveo and Knuckles advised?
As I would rather risk over spending by $20 to have it "over build" than rip it ship it and fix it.
I have noticed in the RC world major brand name companies making ESC's reccommend BEC for people running volts>22 as their controllers are not capable of dropping volts>22 down to 5 for servo and other uses.
What voltage do the "brains of this controller" work on?
Just curious. Anyways thanks for the info. Looks like quite the masterpiece of a controller.
And
Also IR on of 4110 .0045
IR on of 4114 .0110
Source
http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/US2011/P1297.pdf
How much of a difference would the IR on make in heat running 10K watts? How do you do the math to figure it out?
Anyone know?
What does IDM(A) mean how important is that spec?
IDM(A) 4110= 670
IDM(A)4115=420
Hate to geek out just curious for some meaningful useful answers.
I have also herd that this TO-220 package is not the best choice for hi power.
What would be a better package? Why not go with a better package MOSFET rather than adding/paralleling TO-220s?
Thanks

Re: 12 FET 84-132V High Voltage Racing Controller - LYEN $19
I have been thinking about ordering one of these controllers.. once over 100v the options are pretty limited
on what you can buy for a reasonable price.. Anyone who has had one of these for some time have any issues
with them ? Lyen seems about as honest a person I could meet on the internet with his products so I couldnt
imagine him not making anything right that needed it.

posting my own experience.
Tested motor with no load on high voltage setting (110v in) and it blew mosfets in 3 seconds at 2/3rds throttle.
Waiting on Edward to organize a return, I seriously believe knuckles mods are required.
Source supply was 2x48v batteries fully charged in serial producing 110v.
Peak Amps used by controller was 3amps according to CA.

you are not the only one...
to me it happend also with a 24fet 4115....

selled the controller direct from lyens table to another cutomer.
and it happend again to this guy who buyed.
lyen refuses warranty again and still dont answer emails.
