jansevr wrote:its great to see some more photos of the new electric motoped! i agree with skyungjae - if its under $2k its not even a question. haha i have a feeling thats not the case though... probably closer to 5-6k. im curious as to the motor/controller/batteries. also the frame (on the elctric one) has a bit too much going on/looks a bit hectic/like they werent quite sure what they were doing. hopefully they come up with a more simplified and cleaner looking final product - and one that is available soon!

other than that, 88mph is quite an achievement that only a few people have accomplished. can't wait to hear more info as far as specs go!
I actually think it looks more like a bicycle than a dirt bike like the original design. Maybe they'll panel it up to cover up the skeleton?

If so, the "K" should be lower case (kW) :)

On top of the 15,000 KW there's also the claim about cell phone batteries that could jump start a car. That's several hundred c, and don't forget the 1000 times faster charging claim. Is the guy drinking zenn/eestor koolaid now (I can't believe no one has gone to jail yet for that stock swindle, so someone talk sense into the motoped guy if he has dreams of super caps)? Hopefully the name Flux Capacitor is only a Back to the Future reference.

yea im guessing the marketing deptment sent out that stuff before anyone with actual knowledge had a chance to look it over. 10-100C charging (depending on what they're comparing it to with that 1000x claim) would be great  . assuming you could find a power source to provide the 10-100+kw needed.

That frame and swing arm was selling on the motoped site years ago for $1400. To get it for $600 (assuming the kick starter succeeds) is a steal. The rest of the parts aside from the electrics could be hobbled together for not much moneys.

funding goal has been cut to about half of what was pledged last time so i think it will succeed this time..
complete rolling chassis for $1.5k also seems a pretty good deal  8)

So it'll actually be a functioning bike, just minus the motor?

A question for the guys who want to pedal, will this kind of width at the cranks be comfortable for meaningful human assist? If it is, then it really opens up battery possibilities.

motopeds older web site had a customer that was apparently using the motoped as just a pedal bike..
no motor at all gas or electric.. so it is certainly seems quite possible..
im also tempted to try it if I get one..
wont be as efficient as a lighter bike w less wide pedal stance but should still work ok..
depending on personal preference of course..
also have seen some motopeds w bike seat instead of moto seat..
this allows seat height adjustment to get a better pedal bike seat height if desired..
and yes lots of room for batteries as long as one doesn't mind fabing up an attachment / enclosure..

It would be pretty sweet if you could replace the rear seat support with one that would accept a bicycle seat post.

well the moto seat strut just bolts on
so a bike seat strut could be fabed up & bolted on as well..
it may even be an option like the peg kit..

+1 on the electric version. They should make that bicycle seat thingy an optional part for sure.

That looks like a bike perfekt! The look of a MX-Bike does not make sence for me as this would be illigal offer here.

Will there be a frame with cranks and rear axle only option? The shipping overseas will be very expensiv so I think it is better to add the bikeparts here.

Matt,
Looking forward to your build. I have your rc drive v2 astro 3210 drive setup. Do you think that will be strong enough to drive the motoped? I'm comptemplating on ordering a motoped kit.

Thanks
