just wondering if these would be a good fit for my bike. I'm going to put a rear 1000w motor on here.
Good news it's steal. Magnet sticks. Do you recommend pulling the dropouts apart and just welding the arms to the inside. As of right now I think I might have to pull them apart a little already. If I do that I don't need the inside washers right. just tighten TA right to axle?
Easiest would be to just weld one on the left outside. But will be running 60v possibly so is one on each side recommended? Someone told me max is 2500w 45A at 58v.

Your frame look pretty easy to match with the ultimate Y-A. Inside or outside is not a problem too. You could weld these in place and have the oem derailleur arm cut to leave place to the one on the T-A. The steel on the frame is usually soft so i suggest to have the T-A welsed inside, but is is not that much important. You seem to have also enough surface to epoxy them or to bolt them.

Can the holes in the torque arms be threaded easily? I'd like to use the holes to mount stuff in it

The heat of the laser make the metal to become really hard so you will need to drill a hole before to make the threads otherwise you will break your tap threads

You could also heat the part with a torch until it glows dull red, then let it cool slowly. That would return the material to a mild temper and make it easier to machine.

Thanks guys, sorry I didn't see you answered me. I'll do that.

I think I need REAL torque arm, not those sold in commerce with cheap metal. Look happened to my dahon jetstream with a BPM and 2.8KW only :(

Do you think your torque arms will be better than these ones? The holes aren't going to be wider like these torque arm?

Yes it will not happen so easily! From EVERY ULTIMATE T-A i sold, that NEVER happened  None ever break actually. This might be the answer for why i need to make a new batch every 6 month since years

I am sorry for what happened to you with your commercial torque arm, YEs the Steel Quality is making a big difference.. The Ultimate Torque arms i'm offering are made of top quality Canadian Steel QT100. The laser cut also harden the metal on teh surface that make contact to the axel wich help to avoid it to deform from the high pressure that the edge of the axel.

Next batch coming after i will be back from my trip to California.

I don't know if this is a good idea or not but I was just looking around the web at flux's mainly in the interest of etching metals with out getting too hot when I came across this, SUPER ALLOY 1, its a special flux and solder rod that claims it can solder aluminium and steel together. Their words below, I noticed the video was only posted a good month ago..
http://muggyweld.com/super-alloy-1
Previously, joining these two metals was unheard of in the welding community. Super Alloy 1, the 350f degree solder, makes easy work of this seemingly impossible of application.

This multi-metal solder is paired with a unique flux that works as a temperature guide, turning brown at the proper working temperature, and indicating when to add the Super Alloy 1 rod.

UPDATE ON T-A availlablility

Hi all I know there are dozens of you of you waiting for the next T-A batch to come available. Some of you have been waiting for weeks or months.

Your wait will have worth guys  . I will get some soon.

The problem is that my last laser cut shop now refuse my order because they say it is too hard on their machine and it cost them too much to cut my 3/8" CHT100 steel. I was unhappy with the quality they delivered to me few times and i had returned them ans asked to get the same quality as the very first T-A batch I got from them wich was excellent. Unfortunately they now refuse to make them for me anymore.

With weeks of search I finally found a new shop that agree to make these for me at reasonable price but a bit higher than previously. This is not all shop that accept laser cutting 3/8 steel plate made of CHT100 with the precision I require. This require special tuning and many try before they succeed to make a nice cut. It also depend on the source for their CHT100 steel. Some are harder to cut than others and this require time and tuning for getting the quality I require. I also worked hard to keep price as low as possible.

Next T-A batch should arrive at the end of next week and will be 36$ /pair

Doc
ask the shop where they got their laser cutter from and go out and buy one (yes it will be thou$and$)

if worse comes to worse have them cut them thinner say 1/8 and stack 3 plates to make the 3/8.

and note to other users selling their brand of torque arms please make a separate thread and keep this thread for the doc's brand topic.
