Re: Moped Rims and Wheels, 36 hole, 16" 17" 18" 19"
I have a stock MB5 next to me, they have 1.4" rims and I don't think a 4" tire would work right. 2.5 would be right though.
Sounds like we could do a run of 17" rims in 1.6 and 2.5 width, with two hole patterns for small front hubs and large rear hubs and cover most people.

I'm extending my swingarm so it adds space for up to 130mm tires. I'm going more for 100-110.. I've been told 90s will fit on stock mb-5 wheels, but there may be intereference with front fender.
In any event, I rather build the front too as it will match the read and will allow upgraded brake rotor possibly

saw your post and thought you can help..
i have 5403hub that i would like to install in moped rim.
what moped rim and tire(off-road) size do i need to get 24" bike tire size?
what spokes are recommended? can you supply them?

My cash was used starting up Volt Riders so the rims didn't happen as planned. I just built up some extra cash and put down on the first batch, 17" x 1.6" profile in polished black anodized with Cromotor angled nipple seats. We are looking at the profiles available and will either make small flange 1.6" rims or large flange 2.5s. The market for 17x1.6 is much larger so it will likely be the first batch. Then we can start spreading out on types.

Hey John. I finally found a setup for my high speed motor. I'm waiting on the parts to get here to ship to you, just ordered them today. Chrome 36 hole 14" x 1.6" running a 80/80/14R which gives me an OD of 19". This thing is going to fly.

We lost an assembly worker about a month back and I have been totally behind on everything. Can't work an extra 20hrs a week I don't have to give.
We have a new worker starting Monday that will be our new email and internet liaison. He will get us caught back up on emails and learn through reading them to me and dictating responses while I finish up the lagging assembly work. You can also contact us through voltriders.com for a faster response. That business has extra time and workers.

I absolutely love the work that Volt Riders has done for me. I like their work so much I even recommend them on the www.greyborgusa.com website for custom wheel builds or for anyone who wants the best quality parts and work you can get.

They are currently working on another wheel set for me which i will post pictures of when it is done.

Guess who just got 17s in build specifically for Cromotors and ebikes? We did! I have the black item up on Holmes Hobbies and will be adding it to Volt Riders site soon. There is a front ebike and Hubmotor version so the nipple angles are just right.

We will be offering a sale price of $80 shipped from Friday to Monday through Volt Riders. Since our website payment is not acting right we may have to figure out a payment system for this! I'll be trying to figure it out or make a paypal button before Friday.
These look really nice, glad to finally get them after waiting 9 months! Now to the pitch-
MMP (Midweight MoPed) aluminum rims are just what you need for a light and strong ride! Lighter than traditional steel moped rims and not subject to rust, you can rest assured with these good looking hoops.
17x1.6" size
36 hole
6.25mm nipple hole
416mm ERD
7000 series aluminum
2lb each
DOT compliant

Hey John, why is it that the prices are different in the description than in the actual shopping cart. You better believe I'm taking advantage of this

Copy and Paste error on my behalf. The paypal price is correct, the site text was wrong. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi John, which spoke gauge should I order for a v2 cromotor from the volt page?

Re: Moped Rims and Wheels, 36 hole, 16" 17" 18" 19"
will the 26 rim take the standard 2 inch wide tires?
actually i think they are 1.95 or something.
are the rims thicker so they will not flex as much as the normal bike rims making spoke breakage by flexing rim less of a problem?
