This totally makes the Bafang BBS more desirable!
Get a Cycle Analyst and a Multimeter, you're still a noob if you don't have at least one of each.

Cross,
What do you think it will take to mount a dual sprocket on this?
Anyway, excited for this to arrive. I can't pedal the hills with the original sprocket, need a 36 tooth for my trails.
Thanks again.

I'm not sure if this is possible with the stock cranks. you would need a lot of spacers though. I can sent you some more from my next batch if you want to try

Guess you'll need around 4-5 spacers and small sprocket larger with 36T+

I don't know much about bikes, so that might be my problem here. If you took any square taper crank and removed the small sprocket, then bolted to the 4 hole 104mm sprocket. Would you have both a 32 tooth and 42 tooth that are usable?
Correct me if I am wrong here. Chain line might be totally fubar of course. Or is there a way to mount the sprocket backwards, with the smaller sprocket on the outside? I don't have a clue, do I? Sorry for wasting your time...
I will just be happy with a smaller sprocket than what I currently have.

you can simply buy some chain wheels and try if that may fit. as said you get clearance problems with sprockets smaller than 38T and need a second spacer (which I did send you). So my favourite combo would be something like 48T+38T. Using a smaller one will wear your chain quickly (too much force on the chain). So i propose you go for 38T+48T and get a larger cassette like a shimano HG-61 12T-36T which will get you up ANY hill with the 38T chainwheel.

Then you still have the 4:1 one ratio like normal MTBs with 48T:12T and can pedal 45kph down the hill. Plus a almost 1:1 ratio 38T:36T for going up even the steepest hills.

I guess you can't buy cranks anywhere that have these sizes mounted and recycle it... so you wont get around buying the chainwheels separately even if they may be expensive.

For the clearance issues ant the cranks: If you are able to use an angle grinder, you could grind away the spider of a used right hand MTB crank.. this may give you more than enough clearance. But be aware, the axle lengths/crank shapes are quite different of these square tapered cranks. Best would be to visit a bike shop and ask... or someone you know in person who knows MTBs. Measure your bafang right crank, tinker out what clearance you need and choose a new crank (maybe it just fits as is.. can't tell)

Do you have any more stock yet? I'm interested in the 104BCD and a couple of spacers.

Thanks

Are your 5 hole adapters 110mm or 130mm?

Hi Crossbrake, don't seem able to reach you via PM so I'll try here. I've still not received the spider paid for over a week ago. Do you have any postage details or tell me when it was sent?

Thanks
