Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
this gets me thinking.... i wonder if anyone here has done any research regarding corelation of testicle diameter of rider vs e-bike top speed?Merlin wrote:dnmun wrote:why are you guys so anal about the PAS and demanding 150V? if greg can make 20S go 50mph, why would you think you need 150V as though it were just another trapezoidal pwm controller?
i dont want to PISS him. i want just THAT SIMPLE FEATURE in this awesome controller package.
thats all.
i want to have an option for real speed. when it is ok for portland to drive 50mph, hey everyone has it needs....
maybe you dont want to go faster or your balls cant get it....no matter. it is your own decision ...
i bet a pair of bigger balls for you that it takes only 24h after offering "the small batch of 100v+ MAX-E's"
and it is sold out.
probably needs its own thread though...
Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
28.58?? might want to unwind that a bit.... to impress.

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
I am very tempted to try one of these Mini-E controllers, A couple of questions,
You say the regen is controllable if your throttle is used, Whats special about your throttle, how does this work?
Is there any power drain when the system is switched off, does the battery need isolating when not in use, with or without your BMS?
What type of temp sensor would be compatible for use in the motor?

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
hi tench
-regen is varyable, like a reverse throttle. you can use an on/of switch too which could be good too as it has a smooth start feature (easy on axles /dropouts) but it can also be wired to a throttle(magura type pot or hall type)-the more you twist the stronger the braking force, really nice. the strength of the regen can be independently adjusted via the display and regen current can be adjusted for each power mode profile(there are 3.) it will not work above the desired set voltage(max soc)
-as far as i know the power drain when in sleep mode is comparable to a wristwatch
it automatically goes to sleep when not being used for a minute or so.
no need to isolate batteries.
- controllers come supplied with a compatable temp sensor, in the plugs bag.
but it can be flashed to use a 10k thermistor too(i have not done this yet personally, perhaps madin88 has?)

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
Thanks Mate, The reduced sound from the motor along with a few more amps than the 7240 controller I was going to use is what is attracting me, I am using a 3525 motor on 20s in a 22.5" o/d wheel so the controllers ability to gain a few mph on top end is also a bonus, I dont see a down side other than it is a few quid more, but probably well worth that little extra!
A thumb throttle would be an awesome ebrake! with a regular twist throttle for power.
I am away for the weekend now but I will pull the trigger when I get back!
Happy Egg!

i need to sort out a thumb throttle for my regen too.
you will be blown away by the performance.
better get the charge choke and bms while your there.
btw thanks heaps for the awesome axle!arrived 2 days ago

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
a couple things to note:
- if you get the BMS (and it would be a mistake not to) you will always need to charge with pack on the bike, or as long the controller and display are connected.
- for BMS, it's really recommended to have 4s packs. to make 5s or 6s packs work would require extra extreme wiring, if possible.
could be downsides, but only ones i can think of.

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
GC, my pack is made up of 4s packs, 20 of them, 20s 4p so it would be simple to use the BMS too, but I had already sorted my charge harness and built a charger to take care of my pack, I could always put that to one side for now I suppose, but then I would need a power supply to charge with and the choke set up too.
I will give it some thought?
RTL, your welcome mate, thanks for letting me know, that should stand upto the regen and power!!

Get a Cycle Analyst and a Multimeter, you're still a noob if you don't have at least one of each.

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
Things are progressing with my purchase, just not as rapidly as I would like
Thankfully I now have a temporary controller to get me to work and back.
Keep up with the emails would be my advice. I'm sure they are busy.

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
I'm sure they are the busiest company on ES but that is no excuse. As someone who has brought 2 max E from them, this is very poor customer service. I dont need help crosssing the road but please tell me how to use the BMS i requested a few months ago!!Ohbse wrote:Things are progressing with my purchase, just not as rapidly as I would likeThankfully I now have a temporary controller to get me to work and back.

Allex are the max-e available now.
What's the top speed with the 5403.
Edit: just watched the vid.
Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
Not Yet AFAIK.
You can adjust the timing=more top speed.
With ovs 0 it goes around 80km/h with ovs 2 around 90 you can chnage your ovs up to 7 i think.

Re: The most advanced Adaptto Mini-E Controller + BMS
last i heard from Andrey, when i ordered my mini-es about 1 month ago, he said the max es were out of stok till they make the next run. estimated time was 3-4 months from that time, so i guess 2-3 months.
i think it would well be worth the wait though.
if it was i, id be working on the mechanics of the project, getting it all smoothe for when the goods arrive
