Yes, I definitely need to try tuning some more. I didn't just set the same as before as I re-seated the halls, so knew this would change.
I'll try and get some photo's and post up soon.

Well, it was just the FET, however it blew so hard I think it's likely it also took out other stuff with it.

When I'm moving at a decent speed, 30-50kph, in Boost mode, this thing just shoots like a rocket up to 70-80kph and scares the hell out of me on the dirt.
yes, 12s to 18s makes a big difference in top end acceleration
but this also means there is much more power converted by the controller (the phase amps will be very high for a longer time which means more heat).
It's only when I'm trying to go up steep inclines, it basically becomes unusable unless I use Eco mode and pedal like mad. Keep in mind also that my Mini-E is covered in Heat sinks, cooling fans and thermally sinked to the frame, and it is still overheating reaching 75C.
sounds like the hall angle is not optimal. i bet if you do manual tuning, it will be much better.

Does anyone here have been in contact with adaptto recently? I have been trying for a month to get my controller back, received one email from Oleg 2 weeks ago said will ship out but no tracking number neither received.
I am not sure if all my emails went to their spam . If adaptto see this thread, please reply. Or much appreciated if anyone already talking to them, pls help pass the message, tks

I haven't been in contact with Adaptto, but its possible with winter storms that your controller is delayed. I have several packages that have still not made it to me due to storms.

I hope that's the case. my feeling is that it's not shipped yet since no tracking number given. Or for some reason they have not received my emails that I provided my address.

thanks, and I just sent a message from there
sending back is the worst thing that I ever wanted to do, but no choice as adaptto wouldn't sell parts to user for fixing.

Check the time differences from Canada and then phone them up. Hopefully they keep a record of repairs and a record of your controller number. I am not sure my conteoller had a tracking number when sent back.

Hi all, quick question that I'm sure has been covered before.
Can I charge my Adaptto system using just a Easton apr48v without using the coil?
I have a coil but would like a second charger and already have 2 Eatons?

Thanks in advance

No, the coil temporarily converts the controller into a boost converter, which allows it to match different voltage power supplies to your battery requirement, and control the charge precisely.
The only other way would be to disconnect the battery from your system and charge it with some kind of other controlled & limited power supply, but then bad things could happen if not monitored closely.

Thanks Altair that explains it, I wondered how it got up to voltage.

2nd question, where to buy one, does anyone have a spare coil in Europe that I can purchase?

Yep thanks, I've just messaged Artur.

On the off chance, has anyone got the the tuned Adaptto settings for a mini-e with a Mxus 3k turbo?

If not I'll get the manual out and go through the process

I played with the settings on my MAX E. I couldn't find a better combo than running the Auto-detect a couple of times. All I did after running Auto detect was increase the IND Timing and PWR Timing. I think I am running 158 and 622 respectively on those timing values now. I have OVS set on 3. I noticed more power and accleration after 30MPH with an 18s pack. Within your Mini-E I would start off by running the auto-detect and give it a try with just that.

My mini display wont come on. I had it running on the stand, charged , autodetect all good. took a break , when I came back , the display wouldn't come on. I did hook up an adjustable brake for a minute but wasn't sure of my wiring so disconnected that, and ran it some more after that. Ive tried contacting adaptto , with no replies, ive also posted on the other adaptto threads. Still NO answers. Any suggestions for any solutions? I would ship it in a minute, if they would just talk to me. thnx doug

possible to swap out for another display to see if thats the issue?
i have had intermittent issues with display coming on, like the screen would not boot properly. fixed by disconnect battery and reconnect.
open display and check to see if the wimpy wires from controller are well soldered to pcb or not.

Quick questions about the cell balancing procedure.
Does the controller need to be left on for the cells to balance down?
Does the charger/coil need to be left connected for the cells to balance down?

My display says that its balancing for a while, then stops saying this before the cells have balanced out??

Thanks for any guidance

... Controller has to be on.
... Coil or charging connectors had not to be connected.
... This "bms" is not what you may expected. It's more a safety feature.
It bleeds only the cells down to your voltage you like.
Not really balancing cells out.

If you setup your bms to 4.15 it will bleed down all cells to 4.15
If one or more has less then 4.15, it will not be "affected" of "balancing"

Hey merlin, I have an EIG 20s 20AH battery from NYX. My cell #9 is at 4.15 and eveything else is at 4.0. I cant get the BMS to give me that juicy last 1.0volt. What can I do?
