Cheaper on Amazon when factoring shipping into the mix.

Just googled them amazon and ebay are $399 free ship but they look like older versions. Yours are 2017 and black so I imagine they are worth it after all. But they weigh the same, just look cooler.

Sorry for the free bump!

Hi. Yes, I saw those are the old models and they are not Air version but Coil(you can tell by preload switch on top). My were made just 2 month ago :-)

Welcome to the forum. I think you will get more correct responses if you give more details about what you are aiming for.
Will your build be a commuter, a trail bike, city cruiser or hard core holligan build? What kind of battery chemistry and size will you use?
What is your targeted motor output power? And what is your riding range? Like how far can you go on a single charge. Will you pedal? Pedal much, or maybe not at all?

Motors they comes in all sizes and shapes, frames does as well. As you are posting in Vector thread I assume you are looking to use Vector frame as the base for your build, but still there are various motor/controller and batteries and voltages to choose from. The more detailed you can be when asking questions the more detailed answers you are likely to get.

Enjoy the forum and your new hobby 8)

Hi guys,

i will finaly put my adaptto midi-e controller out of the frame under the Vector metal cover.
I have a stupid question..how did you mount the Adaptto there? Which screws I should use? Any rubber thing to protect wires from the sharp edges of the drilled hole. How large should I drill the hole?

Thank you so much :-)
I would like to do it as the best I can:-)

Hey, where are the battery box - inside frame dimensions? I can't find it anywhere, only EEB frame pops up on google images and i want to have vector internal dimensions..

What is the max cell battery you can put inside vector frame. (Batt preferably in cell holders)

Thanks

Here you go, dimensions for you good sir. Width is 125mm using standard side covers. If you order the convex covers width increases to 170mm iirc.

Measurements from this picture are totally off the scale. The 450mm and 420mm lines are almost the same length. But thanks for trying to help tho.

this one is very precise but i need to confirm if the real vector has the same measurements. Thanks

And question again, whats the max 18650 battery that anybody fitted in there? Is there some schematics avalible?

Are you sure you are reading the pic correct? I can't see any 450mm lines in the pic I posted. Got my glasses on now :D Yeah they appear to be fairly close, then again only 30 mm difference such a small variation would be hard to judge by a photo anyway. But yes - the frame taper to the front. And the look at the angels where the taper part starts. It will make sense.

The pic even if it says evel bike is the exact same as Vector. Unless there have been recent changes made to Vector frame.

The black lines are typical max size battery without complicating the battery build, 370m long, 200mm hi and 125mm wide. That will also leave room for mounting the controller shielded inside the frame.

You can go bigger. I've seen in the vector thread 480 batteries, Artur was using 440 cells, and still had room for controller. So likely you will be able to get somewhere north of 500 cells inside the frame. But should you?

I have put exactly 300 cells inside with spacers. Fits perfectly :).

I have seen a post from Allex with a 700 cell pack, but don´t ask me how he has managed to put all that stuff inside...

Oh this is perfect. More than 400cells? Whaat
I only need ~350 cells. But i dont have frame on hand so i was wondering whether somebody shared his cell arrangement on forums. This would be very helpful as from pictures its hard to design battery.
I am even ready to give up on cell holders.

@Dasdouble could you share you did you fit battery? What is the design? Do you have any pics?

Thanks very much

Well you can always rely on CAD design. Cardboard aided design that is. Make a mockup of cardboard, dimensions are here.
It is hard to give general advice on battery build, as your choice of packwidth, cell orientation, spacers or no spacers all will influence the final outcome of the battery pack.

What battery config are you set up? If you use say 30Q cells 22s16p =352 cells, 48 ah, 3750 wh, above 200 battery amps.
Now how you orient cells, horizontal, or vertical will affect your build. Hot glue or cell holders? If you use convex side covers you can have 2 rows of horizontal cells side by side. Will you make a rigid box outside your pack to better deal with any impacts ie bike falls over, or you end up putting bike sideways?

Some posts ago, macribs or someone else has uploaded a CAD design of his battery pack. I have made the same one like him and it fits perfectly. I have also designed some styrophoam stuff to get a bigger surface for the batterys to sit on. (see picture)

PS: If you really want to make a 300+ cell pack, you have to invest really really much time, trust me. For one 60 cell pack, I have invested about 8-10 houres because I wanted to make it as precise, and as good as possible. (Ok, also because my welder is too short to reach always every 3rd row)

Some tip for welding: Always put some stuff on the positive and or negative pole so you don´t incidently touch the poles with some working tools, like I did  A 15Ah battery makes a loooooooot of sparkes... :pancake: (But its good to get the adrenaline kicked in)

22s16p pack would be perfect. I will be using Sanyo GA cells to get max capacity.
I will search for this cad design, thanks.
Unfortunately this is standard 125mm vector without wider panels.

And i have welder with probes so no problem welding big configs. And yes, i always insulate parts i am not currently welding to avoid any shorts. 1 cell gives more than 100A when shorted hehe imagine 15p shorted

@DasDouble i don't see picture you are reffering to, could you re upload?
