Are these still for sale for 599?
Also, how much is the motoseat add on?
not sure if you will receive a response from the distributor here since they have not posted on the sphere in the last couple months.. but according to the vector website the vector typhoon ebike frame is still $599 USD, moto seat $75 USD..

http://www.vectorebike.com/orders/componencts.html

Vector also has contact info on their website so maybe try that to confirm pricing, availability, etc..

http://www.vectorebike.com/contact.html

there is also a similar product available from a reputable vendor in china as another possible option.. :
https://em3ev.com/shop/?prod_cat_=ebike-packages

where are you located, there may be other options near you.. vector is a distributor, not the manufacturer..

in that case talk to Dr. Chopper in Philly.. they can set you up with an ebike frame and anything else you may need for the build.. it's best to buy as local as possible imo for least cost shipping and nearby customer service..

So those Sur Rons will be homologated as A1 bikes? A1 = 11 kw maximum continuous output power. Class A1 is small motorcycle and requires a small motorcycle license, 125cc Road legal bikes are A1 bikes, and I remember the Yamaha DT 80 was A1 back in my youth.

Lets hope they got em bike all sorted before brexit :)

L1E can't be what they are aiming for? Their website site claims 45 mph top speed. Also his post says similar to 125 cc bikes. Which as far as I can tell will be A1. 125 cc bikes are registered as A1. A1 don't have top speed limitations like moped 45 km/h or the L1E. A1 maximum motor output is 11 kw continuous power.

L1E-B is speed limited to 45 km/h. Maximum 4 kw power.

With the stock gearing they do 43-44MPH, I confirmed this with the local police radar trailer. Keep in mind I weigh about 245 pounds. This Vector model does look appealing, the battery capacity potential is huge, looks like it could be easily north of 3kwh. Thats would give some decent off road range.

Guys, been asked to jump on here to clarify. To be honest i have gone back to my distributor for more clarification. Remember that I have not actually seen or possess the Homologated versions, it clearly states they dont get here till June (without issues the first week). These have been paid for and not a pipe dream.
My distributor states they are the 60V 32Ah version but with the additional equipment to make them road legal and homologated.
Homolgated mean to me they belong to a vehicle class and do not need individual inspection, you simply register it your name and have insurance and helmet etc to ride on the road. they will be tax exempt.
My distributor is identity is private information (this is my business contact and not yours) But let me assure you, he runs a successful specialist off road business (for the last 20yrs) that specializes in off road vehicle for the UK military, where registration of unusual vehicles is a daily part of his business. The rumor was these bikes were originally looked at for dropping out of planes with parachutes - but that is just a rumour, (cant get a straight answer)
He knows things that I have not sought clarification on yet, And forgetting just how thorough this site can be, wished I'd asked a bit sooner. I hope to clarify soon. Remember when these are realistically available I will know more. Nobody is being asked to buy anything without answers, but information on a new product takes time to flow down the line. These modifications are made at the manufacturer.
The bikes will hit 45MPH and they will have a vehicle registration form. I do not believe they come under the 50cc moped class as they are too fast. They will also have a two speed power button, but that doesnt help as far as I know for road worthiness.
I apologize that I dont know more, but when they are available, everything will be made more clear.
Thank you
Francis

Ok, so i've just had clarification.
the bikes will be full power 60v 32Ah bikes capable of 45MPH.
these are the stronger an better cooled V2
However in road trim they will have a "Wire" restriction.
This restriction makes them L1e homologated, the same as a moped. A top speed of 45KMH or 30MPH.
However, if the wire is cut after purchase, the two speed switch give two modes. 30 mph or 45 MPH.
Riding on the road with these bikes will be illegal over 45 MPH. Having a bike with two modes will not.
It is upto the individuals discreteion after purchase if they use off road speeds on road.
This also means a 16yr old with a CBT can ride the bike.
depending on age, A full driving car licence can ride with out L plates. This is to big a subject fro me to cover, but basically look up you rights to ride a moped.

Sorry for any confusion and Ill update the site accordingly.

Thx for the clarification. Nice with the wire thingy, me like a lot 8)
So being homologated from the factory should mean it should be pretty much smooth sailing getting these bikes registered in any EU/EEA country? So you could export bikes to other EU countries and the buyers could still have their sur rons road legals?

Maximum capacity is 3.2kWh, if you will charge it to 4.2v and discharge to 2.5V (cell). But useble capacity in a daily cycle is about 2.5, if you charge it to 4.1v and discharge to 3.5v

Dual brakes. Make sure you also got the dual disc front hub if you don't got it already.

Artur,,,,,I have noticed on your website that you sell 4t, 5t, and 7t 50mm V3 Qsmotors. Could you describe the differences between them and what advantages one may have over another in various situations.
Electra 7D/BBSHD, 24 spd hybrid drive 52 volt.
Electra 7D Fat/Mxus 3000 Turbo, 72 volt.
Paratrooper Pro/BBS02/Alfine 8, 52 volt
KMX Trike 1500 Edge 72 volt
Luna Cargo/ QS 205/50 6T back at it
Vector Typhoon…..soon

4t has high speed, low torque
7 t has high torque , low speed
5t in between

If you want to climb a mountain and don't need high speed take 7t for better efficiency
If you ride on flats and need high speed take 4t
Whant to be in a middle - take 5t

Artur,

What is the largest chainring that can fit on the 135 / 150 mm dropout swingarm of the Light ( Storm ) Frame ?

and

Very important .... on the Light ( Storm ) frame , what is the size of the head tube

1 1/8 th or Tapered ?

So in other words is the light frame straight 1 1/8 ,
or
Tapered 1 1/8 top and 1.5 inch bottom ?

both
straight 1 1/8 ,
and
Tapered 1 1/8 top and 1.5 inch bottom . universal headset.

i dont know the largest. we use single 38T Shimano nexus. if you buy double can be more for bigger chainstart.

So you have both type of head tubes / Main Frames ?

I see a comments box down under Name/e-mail / address/phone number.
So
That is where a person will specify
1) Width of Drop Out Spacing ?
2) Head tube, straight or tapered ?
3) Color ?
What else ?

What 140-160 Travel Rear Shocks that are Air , ( Not Heavy Spring ) have you used , or anyone else use ?

Note : I do not need or have the money for 200 mm travel front forks and rear shocks.
Even though the DSM rear shocks are at a good price point, they are more travel than what I want the bike to be, and more heavy, and
most important, do not have the small bump sensitivity that a good quality Air Shock has. ( 140 -160/170 mm travel rear air shocks have a 200mm eye to eye spacing )

What Mid-Drives work on the Light/Storm Frame ?

Really need to see some close up pictures of the top and bottom inside of the head tube. Straight or have a curve for bearings and their races ?
As well as with a Micrometer showing in mm's of the inside of the tube.

Note : on your webpage you show a headset,
However
It is only a 1 1/8 straight headset,
So
When someone orders a frame with Tapered head tube , we have to buy the headset somewhere else ?

( which is OK, since the local bike shop can order any type for me )
