This is the moment of creation of the most significant DIY high performance ebike project presented on ES. It is mind blowing one can walk into Walmart, thrown down $150 bucks, and assemble a 50mph ebike in a couple days with a set of parts all designed to work together.

This platform embodies so much of the effort and labor and research necessary to build an ebike of such performance for so little money and effort. It provides a solid base upon which to evolve variations to even greater performance and value.

Having been here just a year, I consider myself a noob but have spent many hours putting in the time to learn. I have no recall of anything like this project. A true one stop shopping spree to get all one needs to get an egrin on fast!

We will see an ecosystem bloom around this project and I'll take great joy in knowing I was there when it all began.

Bravo, Teslanv!

Now get that online store up and stocked.

Seriously. This is really the start of something. Of course, more needs to be done but will come in time. A very usable set of guides is essential. Nothing extraordinary or complicated. Basic how to guides to source components, if choosing to not buy the recommended item but from a list of compatible items users have tested and found acceptable. Basic assembly guides to how to knock out the old swingarm and get the new one in and fitted properly. Various wiring guides along with battery pack building and harness wiring.

Maybe a simple wiki would be fine as the container and repository of all the documentation. A FAQ would be great to guide folks onto the ramp and onto the highway.

This is just the beginning...

I plan to write a detailed Manual on this DIY kit. Complete with Pics, and videos. It will be the foundation of my ebike empire.

Needs a sticker that says "Not legal for US roads, intended for off-road use only" (*wink)

...and optional "750W" sticker?

I have been using the same V2100 frame for different configurations and power levels from 20s to 30s for 4 years. It's been brutalized like a cheap whore in a gang rape porno and it's still going.
You're definitely going to capture the niche market of the guy (or girl, though not so much) who wants a 40 mph bike and doesn't have the desire to buy a 2000.00 purpose built frame and that is not including all the other parts that go with it. Brilliant build for the semi noob or veteran who wants a power build. Bravo. :!:

Was there no option to add a chain for casual pedalling or was that more of a design choice?

Haha. You noticed the lack of a chain.
It will eventually have one. The first test runs were done all on the motor alone.
The plan is to just have a single speed freewheel. Probably a 20T on the rear to go with a 42T on the front. The idea is that I won't be pedaling much, and when I do, it will be to get up a really steep hill or to limp home after an electric drive failure, so the gearing will be pretty low. I definitely won't be pedaling at the high speeds this bike is capable of.

Nice bag. Where did you get it?

The bag is a project we developed from the ground up.

It's built specifcally for HOlding LiPo batteries.

Here is the sales thread on it.

Thanks Tenislav.

When the handlebar are moving, isn't it touching the bag too? And what about the leg movement? Can it spin without touching the bag?

And is there risk that the bag is wobbling with jump and vibration?

The Straps will be long enough that you can shift the bag towards the seat to avoid collision with the handle bars. However your knees will likely hit the bag when you pedal. It really isn't an ideal bag for someone who wants a PAS type of system. It's more of a "Ride it like an Electric Motorcycle" kind of bag. You should be able to cinch the straps down tight enough to keep it pretty stable on the bike.

Excellent build, nice choice on components. I would recommend bigger front brake, then again I am spoiled by hydraulic disc brakes, they give better feel than BB7's.
