It's not about the quality of the product but what people are doing with it.
The controller is highly configurable and that's a benefit for people that like to push the limits (like most people here at ES). Some people take it over the limit. I could lock it down and give 10 years of warranty for it. But then, would you be happy?

Ah ok much better then. Apologies..

Why not provide longer warranties so that people have confidence in buying your products?

I'll buy meanwell anytime Vs other power supplied because of the 5 years warranties. That really show how reliable it is. They wouldn't offer such a long warranty if they have yearly people contacting them about that
I think you'd find less advanced users happy with this trade off. Maybe like adapto product, people would void warranty if they do some custom settings.

Give a 10 year warranty and i'd buy yours. I'm not looking to do heavy mod. I just need a working and reliable controller whatever weather happens.

There will always be happy people and there will always be unhappy people regardless how much you try to please them. Even if I promise them an afterlife warranty, give them complete bike and $1000 on top as an incentive. They find a way to complain and be unhappy. It's not about product so much as about a person's outlook for life.

I'm just saying as a way to increase sale. For now I find it difficult to decide between various controller provider. I may go buy a sabvoton as it appear more reliable, with a factory backing it up and QS good customer service.

I would have gone adapto if I didn't see so many feedback about it not working as it appear simple and powerful.

So my point is to provide some key differentiator to ease decision. Your product is actually more expensive than sabvoton and doesn't do more either. So it's fairly equivalent.

Help me choose :)

I see it as an easy choice. If you want a true FOC controller, choose the Sabvoton. If you don't, these Powervelocity controllers represent better value.

How can powervelocity be better value? A sabvoton with Bluetooth shipped is $270:

I understood with options powervelocity controller is $300+ shipped to the UK?

Also, what difference does a true FOC do?

Yes I've had this problem multiple times and what happens if I run my 18 fat then change the phone number to the 15th that it doesn't want to recognize the Bluetooth 15 fed yes they are both Bluetooth. The phone doesn't like to understand that it has more than one controller it's conflicted.

Hooked up the old motor throttle controller tester. The throttle works the ca turns on I've on plug the breaks the phone does not recognize the 15 fat Bluetooth controller yes it does have Bluetooth. I've had this problem before when I try to use the 15 fat then change to the 18 fed or to change from the 18th to the 15 fed it just goes blank. I also unplug the ca V3
Ok found a bad sense wire and reconnected it. It's running . Still at this time phone does not recognize 15 Fett controller

You need to disconnect from one controller in order to connect to the other one. With names being the same, this may not be intuitive. I am planning to add a feature that allows to change the module names via the app. That should help it.

I just can't break the old 18fet :) I'm secretly trying to kill my 18fet unit with 10kw :). Just so I can have a reason for an upgrade :). This is one of the first versions with upgraded 150v caps. I've had this for two years I think and have given it a beating , it also was used for a year on my daily commute bike. I even got some water in it a year back and it went silly for a day :). Now it just continues to power on... a testament to how solid these units are. I'm running 220 phase for nice torque and a light front wheel :) mmm 12kw should do it ?

I had a first gen 18fet and had someone thy and program it and blow the 5v rail. I got a new 18fet bt I wish the gps was available then as I would have order it. The old 18fet was wild . wheel off the ground even made me twitch when I sat down because the thing was so jumpy it almost levitated. The new 18 fat controller is a little lighter still a lot of power but seems not to have the power of the first gen but the first chatting wasn't really fun to ride it was just Twitchy with 2,200watt peak on regen. Glad I had a battery that could handle it. Great product also have a 15 fit Bluetooth.

The throttle response is now easily adjustable. If you don't like wheelies, just move this all the way to the right:

Yes But the gen 1 couldnt be reprogramed and my 18fet bt and the 15fet can. I would like to know more of the gps module. I have your first gen alarm still new in the box. Is it the same ? Plus my first gen had the hookup wires and plugs. Have things changed ? As I have had 2 ebikes stolen . None for 5 yrs. But two.

Hi Power

i'm looking forward to getting my 24FET, Question about the aftermarket module, are you running external antenna?

Also what modem are you using etc or is it just purely GPS.

Cheers

The Bluetooth is external, so need so needs no special antenna (it's already there). In some cases, when module is installed internally, a simple wire is run outside that works as the antenna.

I've used a few types of GPS trackers. The best I have is 3G compatible and it's based on Mediatek chip. It's GPS+GSM. It connects externally and has built in antennas for cellular and GPS.

Not sure who deleted your message (it wasn't me).

The Odometer is back in the next version of the app (update is coming in the next couple days).
