The v2 above is about 20lbs; I doubt v3 would add almost 50% more weight.

Yes 20.6 is almost exactly what the V3 Turbo weighs, I've weighed it.

So I bought a mxus 3000w turbo v3 from faster bikes. Finally got around to installing it only to find that one set of hall sensor wires do not work. I was get to get the motor working with the other set of hall sensors. I'm using ca v3 with and Infineon 18fte controller. I got everything working and dialed in I just can't get the temperature sensor to work. I used some post on the forum to plug in the right values for the sensor but it just shows -120 degrees no matter wether the sensor is plugged In or not. I have the ca with seperate speedometer sensor. Any ideas, could I have a bad sensor.

What is the Ohm resistance of the temp sensor wires? Should read something like 900-1000 ohms.

You do know that there are two temp sensors on the v3? I believe they may both share the same ground wire, but they may be separate wires.

My motor acts very differently from one set of halls to the next and wonder if my 18fet infineon/cellman controller is switching to sensor less. Its much more grunty and gritty sounding on one set and soft and lower powered on the other.

When i first ran it i left one set of halls bare and bundled together. Can this damage them?
GEARS? Where we're going we dont need gears!

Due to metal plates and a body full of nuts and bolts I am as bionic as my bike. Mxus 4t 120v toshiba fets and 16ah 24s nanotech.

I don't believe that controller will run Sensorless.

It's possible that one set of halls is damaged. Have you tested both sets of halls?

Yes, there are two sets of Hall and temp sensors on the 3K-Turbo motors. The temp sensors are probably KTY83/110 sensors. Teklektik did a nice write-up of how to program a CA V3 with the KTY83/110 sensor here:

You might check the http://ebikes.ca/simulator

PIck show all from dropdown menu on motors, then mxus 4504

I've MXUS V3 4T, as i ride on mountain (french alps) i need more torque (more amps phase), my ctl Lyen18FET can 80A/250A but motor wires are too thin and become hot very quickly. Also as a sensor set is failed (due to high temp probably), i would do these mods :

0 - remplace actual rim 26" by a 17" mc and tire shinco 241 17x3 for more torque
1 - add heatsink + ff to avoid quick increase heat
2 - change sensor set : ok ref is HONEYWELL ss41
3 - change phase wires ==> What maximum size can be passed without modification of the axis? 10WG, 8AWG or idealy 7AWG ?

thx for your advice

0: 17" i call the optimal size. the shinko 241 is a good choice, but on one of my own bikes i took the 2,75" wide type simply because it doesn't look so beefy. I read somewhere that the 3" has softer rubber, but could not compare them..
2: take the SS413a "L" type if you can find them (L means they will fit into the slots) and install them properly. the sensor in the middle which is loacted between two stator teeth often is mounted twisted by the factory.
3: do you really have the V3 version? :)
If so, than there should be no overheating issues as the cross section is similar (or even larger?) as the winding itself ;)
However, if you are after every % of performance than you could upgrade them outside of the motor (you may be able to squeeze larger wires through the axle, but it will not be easy as i can say from own experience).

Just use heavy phase wires about10 inches up. Pretty hard to pull fatter wire thru that axle.

Nope. 1604 is the month & year. April 2016.
The winding is not indicated in the serial number, but it should be hand written on the stator. Have to pull a cover off to see it.

There is another way I've read here on Endless Sphere to get the KV of a motor, but you'd need a power supply at known voltage, and run it unloaded, and a rpm meter. I've seen something similar that looks like this being used on YT.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Digital-LCD-Lase ... 77&vxp=mtr

They used a piece of reflective tape.

But yeah the MXUS would have it written with a marker on the inside somewhere, thats the easiest way, but if its not, then you know what to do.

Why do you want to go so fast, or are you lacing that into a hill climbing monster on like 16" wheel which only loses 10kph or so. Where do you have do be in such a hurry?

Hi guys
Just got the 3000w turbo
It didnt come with a freewheel sprocket. Id like to get a single speed that can be removed with a tool to compare different freewheels with different tooth counts.
Id like to stay away from the chinese ones that i see all over the place. Perhaps a Shimano. But i dont know the thread etc. specs. of the motor. What are you guys using?
Thx in advance

For a single speed, you'll want to decide which is more important: Easy Pedaling when you run out of power, or being able to pedal along with the motor at higher speeds.

For Easy Pedaling, I like the ACS Crossfire Freewheels, in a 18T or bigger.
ACS 18T.jpg

For High Speed pedaling, a 12T Freewheel is handy.

Its not a pleasure pedaling with no juice, I've been there a handful of times with the mxus 3kw motor.
