US Group buy for the new MXUS 3000w V3

Post by Motobikewheels » Mar 02 2016 5:27am

Last year i did a ton of wheel builds for es members under the username roadrash and made descent money doing it, so i figured i would give back to the community and do a group buy for the new MXUS V3 motors.

The motors have gone up $20 from the v2

Total price would be $240 with the m16 axle shipped to your door if you live in the Continental US as long as we get over 20 motors

Upgrades

4mm² phase wires
6004 Bearing 20mm on the wire side
20mm axle (partial)
Two set of hall sensors

Also offering a smokin deal on wheel builds

$160 16" prowheel with SS spokes laced and trued
$170 17" MMP with SS spokes laced and trued
$150 19" MMP with SS spokes laced and trued

OR take off 40 if you want to DIY and just need the rim and spokes

I'm interested, starting to gather bits to put together an Intense 951 frame to add to the fleet now. Might as well try a MXUS, sounds like a great price! Wondering how much that chunk of Changzhou City scrap iron weighs though? Heavy, right? I'll deal with it though.....first take it apart make sure it's tight & right. Then drill & mill it and dip n' bake it... that'll keep it cool & hold it together, too!!

Think I'll pick-up a 17" wheel kit off you. I prefer assembling my own wheels though. Besides, I need to drop the stator in the dip tank first. Hey, how come the 17" rim & spoke kit is more expensive than the 19"? Isn't the rim smaller and spokes shorter, so there's less metal????? :o

Hello,
I would like to purchase one of these . With a 19" rim .
One of the new things people began to find out in the last century was that thoughts--just mere thoughts--are as powerful as electric batteries--as good for one as sunlight is, or as bad for one as poison. To let a sad thought or a bad one get into your mind is as dangerous as letting a scarlet fever germ get into your body. If you let it stay there after it has got in you may never get over it as long as you live.

Yeah I didnt know if you upgraded it then spun it as V3.
Thats totally cool the factory is doing that.

Whats the purpose of 6 halls instead of the usual 3?

I'm not sure but I think the idea is in the case one set fails you can use the other set without having to tear down the
motor and fix the original set.

I see in the other thread I posted a link to above the v3 can come with thicker "bent" magnets will those be
in these motors or are they special order?

Yeah the extra set of halls is for a backup and i'm pretty sure all the v3 motors will have the bent magnets. I will check with mxus tonight

The bent magnets are not standard, as far as I am aware. At least it was an up charge on my motor order.
Same with the M16 axles. I had to buy an MOQ of 100 pcs to get those...

Better to call them curved, and they are curved so that they fit perfectly against the cylindrical steel backing rim. Theres no picture in this thread, but somewhere around here is a comparison pic showing a closeup comparison between the short / flat magnets arranged around the inside diameter of the round outer rim, and the curved magnets that fit perfectly. Its a small improvement, but it costs near the same, and its the way they should be in order to get the maximum power and efficiency in the smallest, lightest, and least expensive motor of its power level.

Still waiting on a response from MXUS. I'm sure one way or another we can have these motors built with the curved magnets

Probably no way this would fall under the group buy pricing but is there a front wheel motor option? Does that even exist? I got a drift trike project on the back burner that I can't help but think deserves one of these.

135mm steel fat bike fork would work.

Hang on a minute. A number of people busted their butts to develop that motor and even invested in custom axles. Now there's a group buy?

Well you guys should send one motor to Justin at ebikes.ca so we can see the true advantages of curved aka bent magnets.
Other then that, the upgraded axle is a big bonus. Some have designed and sold their own custom axle with beefed up bearings for lots of money. Im gunna wait until my stock axle deforms or breaks before I invest in an axle upgrade. The double up of halls does not interest me much. To be honest it might actually be a hinderance as one could pop loose.

A while back I noticed that a lot of new fatbike purchasers were upgrading to a Bluto suspension fork. As a result, there are a lot of new stock Surly Pugsly/Moonlander forks on ebay. Typically $120-ish new retail, roughly $60 on ebay. Chromo, with disc caliper mount.

Maybe you get motorbikewheels to set it up. But that's not what this thread about. And Justin would need time and effort. I'm glad the motors are improving. It's a new time when China is helping.

17" is more because Holmes hobbies raised the price on them

Been getting some pm's. It would make it a lot easier for me if you guys could post what you want right in the thread.

Mxus message

Barent sent me response that he can sell you the M16 Axle in our store which is 5$/pcs.
So you can order from us, but the MOQ for the whole order should be 20pcs.

The bent magnets can not be used this time because of some problem, so we will still use the normal one.
