EUROPE - [2nd] Groupbuy MXUS3000 v3 TURBO

Post by Merlin » May 10 2016 6:48am

Hey Guys,

new Projects? missed the other EU Groupbuy?
Here comes another. Not Really a Groupbuy, because i will buy the MOQ of 20 Motors anyway.

Tech Specs allready known. I am in contact with MXUS for a Time,
but rethinking if i do this "special" Groupbuy because its alot of Money to Handle it, and i need only one or 2 of them.

But here is what i ordered from MXUS and its confirmed

- MXUS 3000 v3 Turbo / 45mm Stator
- Black
- 10AWG Phase Wires
- 2 Sets of Hall Sensors
- Temperature Sensor
- 3T/4T/5T Windings available
- 8,3Kw Netto weight.
(Its an Info from Manufacturer, but calculate with ~9Kg ;P)
- 142mm dropout (So it fits in every Bike frame with a bit stretch)
- 16mm Axle ...Yes 16mm like the Cromotor :D
- bent magnets 38H (120°)

Atm i have only ordered 15x 3T and 5x 4T
to say it with Justins words about "torque".....the difference between 3T and 4T is only: the 4T runs slower.
Every benefit comparing to a 4T is only in a 0,x % Range of REAL WORLD using.

BUT: if someone want a 4T or 5T....i will order it. You have about a Week time to think about because its allready in Production.

As you read, i make a deal to upgraded 16mm Axle for Maximum Power and durability. This costs a bit more.
But i think THIS community shares my Bigger is better thoughts :D

Also, to safe Money, it comes by sea to Hamburg/Germany. Iam Living in the South of Germany. So here are also some money involved to bring that Hubbies to my door.

Bare Motor Price, with all Fees, Tax, Paypal and Handling is just:

I would be interested in a 4T motor.
Whatis the tempsensor that is installed?
Do you have a date when they would be available?

Will they work with a screw-on cassette?

all i can say is that i come from a 9KV Cromotor and have now an 11KV and this is the best i ever had.
this mxus i will buy for my girlfriend. a 3T 11,9KV. Also with an Mini-E oder Midi-E from adappto.

if you drive 90% offroad and only pedal a bit to your offroad spots, go with a 4T
if you drive 50/50 On and offroad, i would never go with a 4T.

the Power in Midrange speed with an higher KV is great and you feel the difference between them on your first ride.
plus not really a need for OVS (field weaken using) cos the 11,9KV is fast enough even at lower volts.

I understand, but when looking at ebikes.ca calculator, it says that the 3T with a 65A controller will overheat in 15 mins...
That's the main reason for wanting to go 4T. Plus the occasional bike trailer which will be towed.

Setup will be 2Os on mini-E.

Still recommend the 3T over 4T?

What timeframe are we looking at, delivered to Belgium?

edit: will definitely be going with 4T, as my frame takes 700c wheels.

Also, as these axles are 16mm, I assume my torque arms from ebikes.ca won't fit anymore.
http://www.ebikes.ca/shop/ebike-parts/t ... rm-v4.html

Any advice on which torque arms would fit?

to compare you have to setup 3T Motor to same speed.
if you setup a 4T to 100% Throttle you got ~65kph overheat: never
if you setup a 3T to 75% Throttle you got ~64kph overheat: never

but 4T has an effeciency of 43wh/km
and 3T has an efficiency of 42,x wh/km

in a 0,x% range the 3T is more efficient. beside that. I ride a 65KG Raptor and i have also a trailer with 2 dogs towed in the woods.(2 or 3 times a week)
my maximum wh/km at the end of a 70km trip was 33wh/km.

this simulator IS a simulator. everything you setup is 100%.....it means if a motor overheats in 45min, you have to ride 45min on flat with 100% open throttle at full speed.

let me ask another way, since i saw you want to ride in a 26" rim + 20s (84v)
how much speed do you want with your bike?
if you go with the adappto you can reach easy 100kph with it. so theres no need for a 3T anyway.
If you want to catch 80kph, hell, you dont need a 4T. 5T would be fast enough.(with ovs settings)

about torque arms, i dont think there are trq arms out that i know who fits 16mm axles.
you can drill 14mm TArms a bit out or build your own.

i did it also on my front hub'ed fat bike (also Mxus 3000 4T):

Rockstable, about 40€ because ordered only one pair...
as you can see i took the IS Mount for it.

I'm probably going to stock with the 4T, if you think I'll hit 100 kph with ovs on that (with mini-E), that'll be MORE than enough for my light commuter bike.
These are bike tires, with trekking forks, no full sus...
3T would yield no benefit at all for me.

Any idea on when they would be available?

they are in Production. minimum 5 weeks to my door + shipping to you...depends on your location.
i will make a Template later for everyone like in my statorade Groupbuy.

so every can see clear who is interessted or who wants one.

@ Wannesd,

if you are using a Mini.E with 4KW your Top speed will be around 70-80kph (max) because Aerodynamics.

so you are building something like that? It was my first Bike, 2nd Kit.
HS4080 / 8KW / 100kph

Currently with a mac geared hub and lyen controller.
Aerodynamics will be better than what you posted, due to the framebag.
Also less rolling resistance with the skinny 700C tires.

Looking now to upgrade to disc brakes and rock shox fork.

I'm thinking about MXUS 3T
Would it be practical to run 3T with 44volts in 17inch motorcycle wheel? I guess I wouldn't get much speed with 17inch wheel and only 44volts.
I got four lipo packs (20000mah 6series) therefore I got option for 44volts or 88volts.
ebike build in progress
CN 5.5kw scooter (on sale)
E Mindless Maverick Talisman longboard, 2.2KW motor, 150Amps controller (on sale)

looks perfect to me

depends on your controller....a sinewave is about 8% slower, but if you have the option of field weaken, 60kph doesnt look bad.

11,9kv x 42v = 499,8 RPM x 1,85m = 924m/minute x 60 = 55,4kph
-8% sinewave =
~50kph with a full battery / without OVS/field weaken.

if its for the motor, go with the 729 mavic. before this rim bent, your frame brake. lots of experience with this rim.

any bicycle shop can lace it in. or by yourself. its very easy. 1000 of videos online to do it. and only half an hour work.(even its your first job)
for truing give it to a bike shop. (truing is what time costs for hobby people like us)

or when you have the time to wait, i can do the job for you. spokes (sapim strong black or silver) 40€ + lacing/truing 40€

That's 26", I need 700c.
A719 is widely considered the strongest 700c rim there is, unless you have another option?

If your offer also stands for the A719 rim, I'd gladly take you up on it.

doh! you are right.
my trekking bike was new on 700er Rims.
i changed to 559er with big crazy bobs. so it was near 700c but with alot of more tire suspension.

sure i can do it. lets talk with pms about wheel lacing.
