12F Sine/Silent 36-100v/45A Controller iOS/Android,GPS-$139

Post by Powervelocity.com » Jun 07, 2016 12:33 am

Update

iPhone app for Bluetooth programming module is now available. All controller sizes are supported: 6F, 12F, 15F, 18F, 24F.
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt ... 31&t=75888

By popular demand, 12Fet controllers are now available for immediate orders.
These are smaller versions of 18Fet Controllers that have proven to be running very smooth and silent with a wide range of motors.
See details here:
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt ... 31&t=75888

Spec/feature highlights:

- Violently silent (or silently violent), quick response to the throttle, strong and smooth acceleration from a dead stop without drama;
- Small and light package. Dimensions are 150 x 85 x 40 mm
- Based on proven Xie-Chang/Infineon controller platform (censored) that is great for further modifications/hacking but comes with a new MCU allowing all the standard set of Infineon controller features (cruise, 3/4speed selection, regen, PAS, settings, etc) plus a number of new configuration options with the programming software;
- 12 genuine IRFB4110 low resistance 3.7 mOhms (up to 100v);
- Battery amps are programmable up to 99A and phase amps up to 370A, voltage range 36-I00V. Up to 45A recommended with stock wires and traces but more amps can be pushed with upgrades (thicker batt/phase wires, beefed up traces, larger caps, etc.);
- A wide range of regenerative brake strength settings: 200 units instead of 2 settings available in older Infineon controllers.
- Soft start setting with configurable ramp-up (set via software);
- 130% over speed settings that allows even higher speeds;
- Flux/field weakening control that allows to further tweak motor for speed;
- "Soft LVC" setting (adjustable individually for each of the three/four speeds);
- Separate current and speed setting for each speed position setting;
- Heatsink aluminum box with larger fins helps better with heat dissipation;
- $139 with free shipping within continental US, PayPal accepted, international shipping is extra.

Options:

- Programming cable - $15 ( if not needed, controller voltage/current, other settings can be customized to the specs before shipping);
- Cycle Analyst connector $10
- Throttle $15
- Alarm/GPS tracking system mated to this controller, pre-wired/plug-and-play (Sound alarm on vibration detection/power disconnect, SMS alerts, remote listening via phone, GPS tracking, remote arm/disarm/panic/motor lock, remote start and much more) - $70
- Cycle Analyst version 3 Direct Plugin - $125 (this price if purchased with controller)
- Universal DC stepdown voltage converter for 12v accessories (input voltage 36-100v output 12v 10A), wired into controller and turned on/of with the switch key - $25

Shipping is free within continental US and flat rate $35 to any other country.

sinewave controller and MAC motor

Post by Peterfr12 » Jun 08, 2016 9:29 am

Hi

I am going to purchase a MAC motor soon through the em3ev website. However I would like to run the MAC motor with a sinewave controller.
Is this controller working with a MAC motor?
Many thanks,

Pierre

In theory, the controller will work with any hall sensored motor. So far, it has been tested with Clytes, MXUSes, 9C, Leafs (Leaves?) and worked well with all of those. Not yet tested on MAC, but I don't see a reason why it will not work.

I think you should get a mac and test.. it's been notoriously hard to control...given its characteristics.

The old MAC motors have advanced hall timing. The new ones are neutrally timed, so should be no problem. I'm not sure how to tell the difference just by looking.

Think I'm gonna order one of these today...

how much is shipping to Dublin, Ireland? And how long do you think it would take to get here?

Is the programming cable the same as the Lyen 12FET controller one?

Any more details on the GPS tracker thing?

The programming cable will work with a small mod - details Pmed.
The GPS Alarm is a must have in my book after my friend's bike worth 5K was snatched out of his garage. Thank goodness home insurance agreed to pay.

It's a great little device that plugs right into the controller (supporting any voltage up to 100v). It does what an alarm will do: screams when someone is fiddling with your bike but will also, call your number and let you listen what is going around your bike, will text, report GPS location, will lock the wheel applying current to phases. It can also record your rout on the map and archive it for future references, can replay the route. I can't be riding my bike around neighborhood without it anymore, it's peace of mind that matters.

have you ordered and tested with the MAC? i got REAL issues with ANY sine wave controller i tried to run with a MAC. no wanting to say that these controllers can't do it. just want to know for sure by someone who has tried it.

is this with or without the mounting flaps? how long is the case alone without any covers?

These controllers have a feature that if one hall signal goes bad (shorted, open), the controller will still run on all phases once it gets going. Not really sensorless, but sensor fault tolerant. I don't think it will run with multiple hall faults but haven't tried it yet.

Yes, it has mounting flaps.
150 x 85 x 40 mm are the dimensions for the shell with covers. Covers are thin sheets of steel plus silicon gaskets (they add maybe 3-4 mm to the length).

Could you post any details of wiring for hooking this up to a Crystalyte HS3540 motor, LIPO battery and Cycle Analyst DP V3?

I just received the controller and have it hooked up the exact same way as my Lyen 12FET was, but the Cycle Analyst isn't turning on... no power at all from it (when I swap the Lyen controller back in it powers up as normal).

Any thoughts?

My bad - hadn't shorted the red wire to the Positive of the battery supply...

Now to figure out the correct phase wire combination

The controller turns on when you short the single red "ignition" wire to the battery positive. It will not come online if you just connect the battery leads. I believe that's how Lyen turns on (well said :roll:) but I am thinking there may be some variations. Just want to make sure you use the red ignition wire to power it.

Here are the hall/phase mappings that have been tested to work well with Clyte H40. Chances are they are the same for H35 although I have heard they may wire motors for US and EU differently (not sure if that's going to change with the Brexit :).

Motor to controller:
Halls
G - B
Y - G
B - Y

Phases:
G - Y
Y - B
B - G

On my initial test of those Phase and Hall combinations for the Crystalyte HS3540 all looks good!

Thanks Vad!

Looks like Brexit isn't affecting things too much yet :P

Downloaded the software for the controller from the powervelocity.com website but it needs a password... Can someone PM it to me please - thanks :)
