Cyclone 3000W Solid Motor Mounts

Post by evolutiongts » Jul 07, 2016 5:54 pm

Cyclone 3000W Solid Motor Mounts

One piece Aluminum Motor Mount for rigidity and stiffness
Includes: One Piece Aluminum Motor Mount, Two aluminum mounting plates, and hardware.
Mounting brackets have 4 bolts on each side vs 2 on the standard Cyclone 3000W
Motor mount is 73mm width if you have a 68mm BB you will need a spacer.

I made these out of the frustration I had with the stock motor mounts which will twist and break because of the high torque.

$99 shipped.

I'm considering picking up your cyclone kit with the upgraded mount. The bike will have 68mm BB. Your site mentions that the upgraded kit is easier to mount, and I don't mind paying a bit more for easing the installation. Would the beefier mount still allow for mounting inside the triangle(above the downtube) assuming there is room? Besides the mount being more robust, what other upsides are there to your kit versus Luna's ?

Hello,

Yes the mount allows for mounting it inside the triangle, assuming there is room. The motor mount single handily makes this kit complete, the stock mounts will tend, flex, and bend under load. With the beefier mounts this isn't a problem.

Oh man, found this post from a picture of the mount I was drooling over. Is there any possible way to still get this mount?... or if not, are there any other similar upgraded mounts that are available for the cyclone 3000w mid-drive?... I desperately want one.

I think i prefer the AFT C3000w brackets : http://www.aft-ebike.com/c3000w.html

They seem to use thicker aluminium plates whereas this one uses the original thin mount plates ? As it just has a solid block in the middle that would weigh a lot? Also the AFT one seems to grab the motor from the outside as well as inside motor mounts i.e it should be stronger again. Also it seems they have a controller mount location for the kelly controllers...

What frame clamp was used? Is it the regular hose clamp that cyclone supplies ? I think AFT has some other stronger type of frame clamp..??

Has anyone bought or tried the AFT version ?
