Hi Atomek1000,

We do not test what the power the frame can support max, it is difficult to get the exact value.
The motor of the complete bike in the picture is 4kw motor, we ride the bike harf a year, there is not any
structure transformation and dimensional change.

Let show you some details of the frame material.
The box part and seat support are both 3.1mm thickness steel
Swing arm and shock support are both 8.0mm thickness steel
Swing arm and box connected by 10mm roller
Head tube is 5mm thickness steel
All seam welded by argon arc welding
All frame kits total weight is 21kg

The frame strength dare to compare with any simillar frames!

- i wonder that a 68mm BB is enough for a 133mm wide frame. i see your complete bike picture but if i compare to a 140mm qulbix frame there isnt that much space for a normal 68mm BB.
the Pedals would hit the frame. how long are your crank arms?

- 21Kg is the weight of the frame including swingarm, sideplates and so on?

Hi Merlin,

We make 68mm BB and 44mm head tube in order to apply all standard mountain bike kits.
you can add two rings to get 73mm BB easy.
and everyone can buy accessories from bike market.

plz check below picture, there is enough space between frame and crank.
we like to answer all your questions.

isn't it listed in the thread? That is why I wish the MODS would make that standard.

Well the swing arm is a bit different to all the other clones doing the rounds, but making the frame out of 4mm thick steel ?! That must be some mighty fine chinese cheese steel alloy!

It should at least be extremely durable and perhaps rigid.

4mm may be thicker than most steel frame motorcycle tubing.

Hi Hyena(maybe Jay),

thanks for your time!

we do not think about the weight too much once design, the first important is strong enough, and the frame is not for jumpping. For jumpping, off road motorcycle is more better! what do you think?
the complete bike with our frame will be less than 50kg usually.

most of this kind of frame weight around 13kg, those swing arms are made of square tube, ours 21kg, the extra 8kg comes from the swing arm and all other upholder which is all 8mm thick steel.

we think weight is not important for this kind ebikes, so carbon and aluminum is no useful!

Sry to say,
But weight is in any way the (probably) most important part.
... Acceleration
... Efficiency
... Less weight, less power needed, less heat on controller /motor
In your case it's the worst you can do with a swingarm with pure 8mm metal.
The Unsprung mass of a 12kg hub is all ready too much for EVERY bike suspension part.

If you add another 8kg (that's incredible) to your rear suspension....
Man that will bounce even on street over every potholes...

This "skeleton" design is great... And also that you don't need a chain tensioner.
It looks like you have all tools to do it better.
10-12kg is the normal frame weight. Your battery box can be made from 2mm steel easy.

350$ is a killer price (don't know how pricey your shipping is)
But rethink that Europe or America buyers had to pay additional ~20% tax/fees

Now you are in a range of all other diy frames.
If you want to jump in this market, make it light (er) or cheaper or improvements that others don't have....

But with 21kg for just the frame I would wonder if you find a customer.

Hi Merlin,

many thanks for your postreply, very great analysis!

i know 3mm thick frame box and 8mm swing arm is heavy than 2mm box and square tube swing arm.
but we still keep our design for safety enough! our first prototype is 2mm steel, we really think it is not strong enough for rider over 80kg weight!

for the price, we also show some discount for big order(>10 pcs per order).
shipping cost need to check for different area(around 100usd).

and thanks again for your suggestion, yes, difference with others is important, we are making the improvement!

regards

I most say I like the idea of a rugged hard core frame, build like a tank. Should be really durable even with rough usage. This frame surely stands out from the crowd.
.
Posting from cellphone so hard to see exactly how the swing arm is made, but for me it looks like swing arm is just made from flat steel, then perforated to save some weight? What did we learn from Boyd Coddington in American Hot Rod? Box it in! Always box it in! 8)
  • 1: Wouldn't a swing arm boxed in design be both lighter, strong and stiffer then single piece flat steel?
  • 2: Could you tell me more of the swing arm design, as I don't really get it using the small cellphone screen. Where is the anchor point of swing arm to the frame, around the bottom bracket? Seems like an interesting choice for nice clean chain line without any chain growth.

1.all square tube need to be welded with a motor axle holder, and most tube 2mm thick, we think that is the weak spot.

2.upload more photos, i dont know if it is showing the design clearly, if no, PM me your mail, i will show you more.

The pivot point of the swingarm looks very narrow and flimsy with only a M8 (?) bolt. Also it could be that the stresses off serious off road riding cause flex and strange handling due to the bearingless (?) swingarm-frame connection. But that is just judging from the photo's.

@ cryzymotor that is only 40mm dropout my downhill bike has 50mm dropout or are you saying this is a 48 vott frame ?

my electric enduro frame had 50mm dropout but I needed 80mm dropout to fit a 72vott motor and rotors on .
