Direct communication with the designer who listens and supplies trouble shooting help. His boss won't let him release source code or complete schematics, but he will supply partial diagrams as needed.
I suggested a few things that he is working on. Such as networking in a future version that will allow battery health to be followed remotely.
A buddy let 10 Leaf modules go dead at a second home because of an ac connection that needed a harder insertion than was supplied by an unnamed spouse.
Also an auto start selection for maintaining charge. Even after power outage, hopefully.

Steve asked for light and rugged, but I don't believe a 25a charger with fans will ever be a good on-board charger.
Opted for XT-90 connectors included as it makes it easy for full power burn in a factory.
