That dashboard app is very nice!

When I was reading through the thread, it sounded like in addition to the controllers, you also make an external module that just plugs into the CA plug on an existing controller?

If that's correct, could you share an image of the external module, or some dimensional measurements, and confirm that this external module is $99?

Yes, plug and play with CA connector. Will post some pics soon.
Dimensions are 50mm x 23mm x 10mm. It's small.

Since you are pulling the software from the Apple Store or Google Play, no need to delete it, you can just update it but there is no harm in uninstalling your existing app and reinstalling the latest version. Either way works.

For pole pairs, you need to enter the number specified by you motor manufacturer, or you can open the motor, count the number of magnets and divide that number by 2. That would be your pole pairs. Common numbers are 23 (MXUS, 9C), 16 (QS), 8, etc.

You got it now: MIN/Sag for the voltage and MAX/Peak for the the current.

I was wondering if anyone else has issues pairing with Android? I can find 2 options when trying to pair, directly from phone PowerVeloCity-i and PowerVeloCity-A. Assume -A is android and -i is iOS. I can "pair" thru my Samsung S5 and it prompts me for 1234 code.

But when I open PowerVeloCity app, it only finds the PowerVelocity-i. If I try to pair to it, it freezes up app and I have to reinstall.

I tried with my iPad, and it worked perfectly. Was reading correct pack voltage can change settings etc.

Wondering if this is something to do with my S5 or not. I might have another Android device to try just wondering if anyone else had this issue.

Can be a phone issue. Just tested it on a Galaxy s7 - no problem. Please try another phone and report back.

Somehow my S5 doesn't like it, guessing it's me. I tried with an older iPhone a friend gave me and it works perfectly along with iPad

I have another Android phone coming at me free so I'll check with that.

BTW I love the dashboard, very clean. Can't wait to try it on the bike. Bike building time has been hard to come by these days so it's going slower than I like.

Would like to buy this. I asume that it will work ok with your 24F 150V 15kw controller (older version with bt programing)? My wires are hidden but dont remember having programming interface plug so need to go with that CA version? And need to use 2 software? Older for programing controller and new version for dashboard?

I would allso like to buy necessary smaller plugs, can u pm me total price with shipping to Finalnd. Thx!

The external module will do both programming and dashboard (speed, power consumption, range left, etc.)
If your older module has only programming, it would make sense to upgrade.

You will just need to run five wires for programming outside and you can use the CA connector for everything else.

What's the throttle connector? Does it do throttle mapping with output to the CA connector?

- Day and night color theme are added for improved visibility and readability. Three selections are available: Day, Night, or Auto.
Day and Night will manually switch the color scheme you like and Auto will select color scheme automagically based on the ambient light.

- Voltage sag and Max Amps now available on both Android and iOS.
- Dashboard is tweaked a bit to give it a cleaner look.

Regarding the upgrade from an older (program only) BT module to the newest one with dashboard i ran into some issues.
I removed the internal module and instead of it i soldered the programming cable. I was following the connection diagram from the pictures and the pin-allocation as mentioned here in this thread:

Now i have two problems:
- in programmer menu the controller settings cannot be sent or read from the controller (there comes an error message each try)
- throttle does not work

One out of three android smartphones i had available connects to the new BT module successfully, the other two not (but these phones also did not work on the old module).
In the app there was a notification about a newer software (or module FW), but when i pressed upgrade i got an error message.

Vadim could you please have a look and confirm the wiring configuration? I think there is something wrong..

Androids that don't support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and those are primarily really old phones (Android version 4.3 and older), will not work.

Regarding the throttle, the module control is via the CA connector (green wire), so you need to run your throttle, ideally, via the module. If you run your throttle directly to the controller, then the green wire needs to be disconnected on the CA plug that goes to the module.

Regarding the programming interface, it's likely, not connected correctly. The most common problem is connecting RX to RX and TX to TX. That's not right. You need to cross those wires like this RX-TX, TX-RX. Maybe post some pictures that show you wiring.

I ran ran the throttle over the module in order to have protection or th rollback in case of overtemperature.

Well, but there is definitely something confusing about the throttle wiring if you look at the pictures:

I have wired everything up as described in text and picture form. Double and tripple checked!!
If you think RX and TX are confused than i will swap them.

About thermistors:
now NTC 10k are supported with a beta of about 3500.
But most motors will come with NTC 10k with a beta of about 3900 (standard thermistor of CA) or a KTY type (KT83 / 122 for QS motor or MXUS)
I wonder why you decided to go with such an unusual and seldom used type?
Is there a chance that above mentioned commonly used types will be supported in future?

You are right about issue the with the throttle input pinout - 5v and throttle signal are reversed and you can tell that from the throttle connector wire colors. This is the correct pinout:

If the module is otherwise working but not programming, that would be the wiring issue. Like I've mentioned, RX and TX need to crossover and that's commonly the source of confusion. Try to swap out the RX/TX and test. Also make sure Reset it connected. Don't wire anything to SDA on the controller side.

NTC beta can be changed from the app. I'll add that in the next version.

This is a sneak peek of the NAV integration that's coming in the next version of the app. Even though modules sell very well as is, we wanted to add a bit extra as a thank you for our early supporters that helped and continue help making this project a success.

Some feature highlights:
- Navigation function (obviously);
- Power consumption and regeneration gauge;
- Speedo (pickup from halls, sensor via BT module, not GPS);
- Trip distance counter;
- State of charge and range left;
- Charge and range left upon arrival to destination.

Suggestions are welcome what other info you would like to see on this screen. The regular dashboard is still available and switchable with a swipe on the screen. I wanted to keep the NAV screen as clean as possible but open to suggestions.

i'm gonna not use the nav function because whe ride in the forrest whe need to use locus maps, so the base app needs to go to 20kw!!! now its going to 16kw.
in the setting you can go to 300 phase and 150 batt amp ? why not go to 200 battery amp and 450 phase amp for the f24 150 controller?

Power consumption and regeneration gauge;
- Speedo (pickup from halls, sensor via BT module, not GPS);
- Trip distance counter;
- State of charge and range left;
- Charge and range left.
- variabele regen ?
- f24 150 settings 200a batt 450 phase amp
- performance meter in the app up to 20kw now it is set to 16kw

if you can change this and you can give me a 200a controller en 450 phase i wil buy one .

You won't believe, but there are a few people run their bikes in urban areas ;) That's what Nav is good for. This is not to say it can be usable in the woods if you don't know the area.

Yes, and the speed is picked up from halls, not GPS - it's always been that way.

Same thing with the trip counter, range left, state of charge, etc. It's all there, looks like you haven't read the description and haven't seen the app.

And again, 200/450A are available limits with 24F-100 version of controller. Maybe pull the the app from the store and check it out.

Hello!. I recieved my controller with the external programming module yet I'm having some issues with connection. I've checked the program, ca and motor temp cables and they where all wired exactly the same as your wiring photos out of the box, so all good there!.

I also have my throttle and ebrake sensor wired to Bluetooth module as per the wiring photos provided on this thread.
My issue is when I go to connect to the module, when trying on my Samsung s8 under Bluetooth setting 'powervelocity-i' shows up, yet when attempting to connect it will go into 'pairing' for 15 seconds then show the message 'couldn't pair with PowerVelocity-i. Check your PowerVelocity-i settings and try again'. I also can't pair to the controller through the app.
And when trying on a iPhone 6s it will connect to the controller under the phones Bluetooth settings and the power velocity app will show its connected to the module yet I can read/program any setting and the dash doesn't show battery charge level or any information.

Just wondering what could be wrong? Any ideas as to what I should try to get it working. Cheers

What about pushing the app to a Raspberry PI with a $20 screen. That would totally rock.

The module requires no pairing. If you did pair it via Android or iOS Bluetooth settings, please unpair, and go back to the app - Settings - Manage to connect.
