EU - MAC 12T motors in 24" rims

Post by Allex » Oct 28 2017 5:34am

Hi guys I have 4 identical motors that was installed on NYX bikes.
These motors only run for about 30km so consider them as brand new.
They have been standing unused for over a year in a shed so you may see some rust on nipples on the inside of the rim.

This is the latest version of MAC with redesigned casing.
Laced in 24" Sun rims with really thick spokes!
They have 12T winding so a slow wind suited for a pack with higher voltage or for slow speeds.

Price new 330USD

Are these 135mm axle dropout? And do you know how wide the rim is?(inner diameter if possible)

Cheers

There is no such thing as 36/48V

You can use them on 24V or even 100V
Higher voltage gives you higher speed.

Allex you should mention that russia guys have pushed this type of Motor to 8kW with forced air cooling 8)

I own an eZee motor which is basically a MAC with less stator width and i'm always surprised about the performance.
The 12T really should be paired with a 100V controller and >20s than it will perform great at very low currents.

Interested, how did they perform in the Nyx? I'm looking for a rear wheel for my Q76 that doesn't weigh 15kg+, I have an 84v battery and a Sabvoton 72150 (until my Adaptto gets fixed). I assume that they will fit in a Raptor with 155mm dropouts. Singlespeed or cassette version?

They worked fine, but never liked pushing over 1500W in them...but this is because it is a small motor.
This is a regular screw on freewheel version.
Not sure how wide the NYX swing is, but worst case you need to use some spacers if the q76 is wider.

I have never ridden a geared motor, how does performance compare to MXUS 3k, and which controller did you use with it?

Seems my Sabvoton and maybe Adaptto isn't going to work.

They were installed with Adaptto, they work but I dont think in optimal way.
You cant really compare them with mxus, as they are much lighter and of course performance is not the same as these motors are 500W nominal and about 2000W peak. While mxus is 3000nominal.

How many kg's are these motors?
Also are their any gears available for replacement when worn out?

thanks!
