I purchased a module from a 90D, shipped to Canada, recieved 100% OK. He only has loose cells now from the 90D pod, FU**ING FANTASTIC CELLS!
I built my 1st pack with them in May 2017, put 3603km on it to Dec 3rd (29 weeks) when I crashed and broke my wrist in 2 places.
I have experienced 0 degradation in the cells, no loss in capacity and actually increased the rang when I dropped the bottom cutoff to 2.5V.
TESLA cells are rated as a 2000 duty cycle cell, DEPENDING ON HOW YOU TREAT THEM. You must used proper charge conditioning for the cells as TESLA does to get the long term use out of them. The cell are the NCA chemistry, one of the most stable and shock/vibration resistant cells made.
TESLA has a smart charger built into the pods circuitry (pod has 16 modules, 1 module has 444 cells):
Charge 9x to 90% (3.9v).
Charge 1x to 100% (4.2v), discharge to 2.8 - 2.5v.
Charge to 9x to 80%.
I charged 7-10 times per week.
29 weeks x 10 charges per week = 300 charges max.
29 weeks = 1 riding season.
2000/300 = 6.66 riding seasons.
I'm riding a FS MTB with the LUNA 1500w BBSHD, I don't think the bike will last that long because of the way I ride and most probably it will get stolen long before the battery craps out.
So, are these good cells?, Good enough for me as the $$$ dollar cost breakdown is much more attractive than a cell that lasts 500 charges..........
