kWeld from Keenlab now available in the US

Post by spinningmagnets » Jan 17, 2018 11:23 am

Price is $229 plus shipping, I am located in Kansas, and I have 15 units left. These are the latest "Revision 3" units.

The max possible shipping will be roughly $19 (within the USA only) if you wish me to use the USPS "if it fits, it ships" box. Depending on your zip code, the shipping cost may be lower. Send me the address that you would want it shipped to, if you eventually decide to buy. That way, I can provide an exact quote. For payment, I prefer Paypal.

For those who are unfamiliar with these, here is the development thread:

https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt ... &start=250

Any unit purchased from me before February 28 (2018) will include a 30-day money back guarantee (starting on the shipping date of record). No reason is required for returning it. Simply pay to send the unit back to me, and when it arrives, I will repay $229 through Paypal (shipping costs are non-refundable for both of us).

Although car starter batteries and large ultra-capacitors have been used with success, the battery that is recommended for best results is the "Turnigy 3S 130C 5000-mAh", most often found at Hobby King.

The current price of a kWeld when purchased directly from Germany is €165 for the kit, plus €51.5 shipping. That cost can vary depending on the exact zip-code of delivery, the variable exchange rate between the Euro and US-dollar, and possible additional customs fees. At today's exchange rate (minus customs fees), that would be €217 = $266

I am able to provide the same kit to US customers for $229 (plus shipping) because I have purchased 20 kits to save on shipping and also having a bulk-order customs rate. I have also been allowed a minor discount from keenlab.de on the retail price due to committing to a wholesale cash purchase of 20 units.

If the sales of this kit (in the US) are very slow at this price, or...there are too many returns? I will no longer carry this product. I believe it is a high-quality product with a very easy user-interface, and I suspect it will have a very bright future.

There are several well-known spot-welders available direct from China. However, they sometimes fail. Here is a torture test video of the kWeld (take note of how easy the current is to adjust):

I am the exclusive USA dealer for the kWeld unit for the next six months. There may be options in the future, but for these 15 units that I have left, you will receive the full kit that includes all the parts that are available from Keenlab.de, just as if you had ordered a full kit from them. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I can be contacted at spinningmagnets@gmail.com, and due to an aggressive spam filter, make certain to put "kWeld" in the title.

Too bad I already have a spot welder and just found out about this device. It's probably far better than my Chinese welder.

We are nearby...I'm in Denver
ElectricGod...it's a joke...don't take things so seriously folks!

You're in Fort Riley? I might be heading that way in the next couple months if you still have some! Heard good things about this unit. Thanks for buying bulk for the rest of us!

9 units left.

Yes, I'm at Ft Riley...home of Custer! I also have family in Overland Park (near Kansas City). If all the kits sell out soon, I might buy 10 more....then 5 after that? I don't mind being a group-buy facilitator, but...I don't want to get stuck with a handful, when I only need one.

Don't get me wrong, these kits are good, but...just because they are good doesn't mean people will buy them. Something odd has popped up, though...three universities have bought them.
