It goes intermittently "bonkers", killing the battery pack.

Lookup who really owns the Zivan company. You will find a conflict-of-interest.

If you already have a Zivan, I suggest using a timer-switch as a backup to over-charging. There were many old posts about this on old forums, now gone.

bonkers is not very descriptive of the problem. it implies you have no clue about how chargers work. maybe you can illuminate the problem you have. do you have a voltmeter?

Yup.

The Zivan doesn't stop charging when it is supposedly done.

This is what killed many electric vehicle conversions. It appears you don't have an electic vehicles with a Zivan.

I find your posts unnecessarily insulting, and wonder if you're one of the bullies who try to mislead people about EV's.

This is the better EV charger:
http://www.manzanitamicro.com/products?page=shop.browse&category_id=14

It showed, to my recollection, 0.9 Power Factor on our meter, vs 0.5 approximately for the Zivan.

The Zivan became the "standard" for conversions because of its size and much lower cost than the PFC.

What kind of conflict of interest does Zivan have?
