UTV with 555hp and 4,900 ft pounds of torque

As Trevor starts to give us a tour around the vehicle to look at some of the main components, it’s unbelievable spec sheet, like 555 hp and 4,900 ft-lbs of torque, slowly starts to become a reality for us. We get a good look at the four separate electric motors powering the UTV and the surprisingly large battery pack running between the two axles.
 
A well written article, and fascinating, even though if I'm doing any rock crawling it will be on my e fattie bike. Implications for us ebikers is major, if they pull off some kind of battery magic, as in more power in less space, way too early to tell. I keep think that 4900 lbs of torque is a misprint? 490 lbs of torque on that thing would still be awesome, but the writer makes it pretty clear he meant 4900, wow! No wonder they broke part of the driveline.
 
4900 lbft will be the total torque at the wheels from each of the 4 motors.
So if they use a typical 10:1 reduction drive from the motors, that would only mean abour 125 lbft from each motor.
A similar ICE vehicle ( Humvee ?) might have 500lbft at the motor but a higher gear ratio available (20:1 ?) for low speed /hill work...so possibly 10,000 lbft at the wheels ??

Looks fun! I'd buy one! Too bad it will never see the light of day :(
