update,

they announced a name change,
its now E-GO

https://www.facebook.com/pages/E-GO/617346228286183
http://www.E-GO.com

I hope you have noticed the name change. We have secured the domain name http://www.E-GO.com and the E-BOARDS Cruiser will now be known as the E-GO Cruiser EB.

Because we are designing and developing a range of Personal Electric Transporters (PETS) we felt that E-BOARDS brand name was too restrictive and hence the name change. The good news is that here will be plenty of PETS products within the E-GO Ground Division from Yuneec International.

They could have chosen a better pavement to show it off. My feet are aching just hearing it! Still not enough speed for my liking. You can kick faster than the motor can propel you.

Thanks for the post and the comments.
We were excited at trying the e-Board out for the very first time and this video was filmed on the factory non slip road which has cuts in the surface and hence the noise.
The video of our second model prototype will be carried out on a regular road.
The riders were amazed at the acceleration and the top speed and in the video they are only just tickling the throttle.
The electric motor and belt drive to the rear wheels has been especially developed and manufactured by ourselves.
We are not using any other companies components, we design and manufacture everything ourselves.
Yuneec International (www.yuneec.com) is the parent company which makes a range of patented brushless electric motors for our RC division (www.flyingtian.com) and other e-Products including our paraglider, ultralight and sports light aircraft. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoTToP4YMyQ
Full specifications for the e-Boards will become available as we ramp up to manufacture.
The wireless controller will be very small and the designers solid model prototype drawings can be seen at http://www.e-Boards.com
There is a video with music here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHd5YOVikB4

embed it for you...

Yuneec International is truly a unique company. Founded by Tian Yu and his wife Jiang, they have capitalised on their Radio Conttol model aircraft factory (http://www.flyingtian.com) where they manufacture over 1,300,000 units per annum. Their patented engine technology has enabled them to develop brushless motors smaller than your finger nail to as large as a 20 litre keg of beer. They use these to power sub micro RC helicopters, RC jets (http://www.hobbyhome.com), Electric Skateboards (http://www.e-boards.com), Quadricopters and Hexicopters, Drones (http://www.e-drones.com), Paraglider's and even Microlight and Sports Light Aircraft (http://www.yuneec.com). They will be developing an electric outboard engine for dinghies in 2013 as well as being an OEM for many leading companies around the world.

I would much rather have the ability to climb hills. I mean on something like the board, I wouldn't want to go fast anyways. If I wanted to go fast, I use my ebike. There have yet something out there proven to climb hills well.

I signed up for the newsletter and they just sent out an email. They are going to be at some air show (Oshkosh 2013) in Wisconsin if anyone is interested in checking that out or lives around there. Said they would have some demos of the board.
Here's a paste:

Firstly, thanks for signing up at www.E-Boards.com and monitoring our progress. We shall start to send out frequent updates as we start to approach the release date for E-Boards, powered by Yuneec International.

Yuneec is an innovative company employing hundreds of talented engineers and technicians developing cutting edge products originally in the field of electric aviation. Our eSpyder and E430 have achieved major milestones this year and been awarded regulatory certifications. It is this same aeronautical engineering expertise that we have applied to our E-Boards, the first product from our ground division.

From July 29th to August 4th, we shall have a booth at Oshkosh 2013 where will be be exhibiting our electric aircraft and we shall also have E-Boards on display and encourage feedback from visitors to the stand.

How important is speed to you? Consider that some electric skateboards are capable of doing quite high speeds approaching 30mph / 48km/h. Legislation in many countries and states does not permit use on public roads, so sidewalks, footpaths and bike lanes would be where E-Boards are used and so responsible use of speed is important. What maximum speed would satisfy you for your needs?

We expect our final production E-Boards to be under 6kg. What weight would you feel comfortable with?

We can dream as well ......if only E-Boards had the highway to ourselves - or is it a runway :)

e-boards update

Postby dirkdiggler » Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:03 am

Got another email newsletter. Their home page now says Aug 15. Don't know if that is the taking orders date or what. They now have a facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/E-Boards/483961398310479
Two things I notice are the 20kph limit, a bit slow and the 10% incline. Curious to what size motor they are using. The battery pack looks sweet and so does the remote. Hopefully they function well. I would ditch the board right off the bat though. Looks like a walmart deck. Biggest question is what they are going to be priced at.

Looks pretty cool. Cheaper version of the boostedboards. I wonder what it's priced as well. Looks like maybe a single 20/30mm motor? I'd say like 1000 watts or so. Would be real simple to build one of those though.

I think I just seen that board recently on ebay for about $50 bucks with wheels. Do you know how much that would cost?

I like the design, looks very similar to a boostedboards IMO. I like the stealth look with the battery pack and nice controller. Wonder the price too.

Like Christmas morning.
Is this going to be vaporware? I figured they would have some listing of final specs, order info and pricing today. Oh well.

I am very interested to see these guys's finished design... and price. If they live up to their marketing material, my wallet might be about to get a little lighter.
