That is a new configuration to me, I've never seen anything like it. I like it, and I'm gonna have to mull this approach over for a while. You always find the good stuff sk8norcal, thanks for bringing it here!

A little concerned that the steering column could be painful in certain spills - sorta like the Schwinn stingray 5-speed stick shift that nearly neutered thousands of young boys in the 1970's.

I think mountain board is more control and fun!!! Plus what happens if you go over a bigger crack/hall and you front foot slides into the side wheels? Chop Chop and here go to the hospital.
 
Are those rubber tubing for a rear suspension? Front suspension appears to be a single center spring. Unique design, makes it easy to wheely.
 
I had to google the Schwinn stingray 5-speed stick shift..... and died laughing. um....duh lmao
