Looks like crazy fun. hAs anybody ever made anything like this

Well, I had ordered the thing a long time ago after enquiring at Leif as to whether they would be ready for last summer.
Answer was, delivery expected June 2015. Ordered on this info, paid the cash. July came and I asked again as I was going on holiday in August. Answer, should be there by then. Yeah right. Gave up till Xmas, asked if it would be ready, answer as always...
After many many mails of getting bullshit I gave up and cancelled my order, he got very snotty about that and refused to refund.
I had to go through a Paypal dispute before I received my refund.
As it is, if they had been honest up front I would have just left it alone and waited but Leif was so full of shit and simple lies that I think I do not want to give such companies an interest free loan for something I might get one day of their choosing.

Saying that though I must admit it looks like great fun.

if he doesnt make it, china will!
i know you guys dont like to hear that, but it's true.
Leif does look awesome. hope it works as advertised.

I'm guessing, that one of the things that they are not showing is the drive wheels are belted and connected, that way they are always facing the same direction. You can see there is considerable drag, rotating the caster.

If you wanted to do this quick DIY style, it would make sense to have only one drive wheel, I think, and mainly go in one direction. Also that is a great mount, with bearing surfaces mounted further apart than the motor length., That's how it should be engineered. I bet it pays off, in less belt wear and reliability.
