Hi guys, this is my very first post, but i've been reading this forum for a while.
and i'd like to present you, guys, my project.
and please give a feedback regarding any problem i could encounter with my setup.

Me
the driver. 65 Kg 143 lb and there, where i live, it's flat as the cardiogram of my grandma

THE BOARD

THE MOTOR

BATTERIES

i'll put them in a case, like the bubblegum one but thinner and "rounder" (2.5 cm thick) the esc is in another place and it will be near the rear wheels

ESC

i'll put it on the tail with an aereodinamic case, for cooling and cuz it's cool (mere aesthetics)

CONTROLLER

i will open it and put the needed components inside a custom made case with my beloved 3d printer


the pulley are custom made with a 3d printer with abs.

14-35 gear ratio


i have still one big problem, the motor mount. i'd like to make it with the 3d printer.
but i'm not very good with autocad, sketch up, blender or similar and i can not find any stl file, any advice?

P.S. i come from italy (Milan) and i'm 16 years old. i'm sporty but when it comes to skateboarding i sincerly don't want to kick.
and i'll use my creationts for helping me in my daily commute (i also use public transport)
 
Parts look good, just be aware that these 3D printed mounts are not guaranteed to last a long time. I would be constantly worried about it breaking. If you are not good with CAD the best way is probably just to draw it, make a cardboard model to see how it will look and then make it out of aluminium by hand. Good luck!

And regarding the 3d printed parts it's not a big problem, i'm a combo between a reckless dude and stoner, so i relly dont' care about dying due a pulley failure :D
And i will make it in alu, cuz it's easier

It's also better for heat transfer, as the controller puts off lots of heat.

There are plenty of areas where 3dprinted parts are great. I'm using the following printed with ABS: controller mount, phone/diy ca mount, throttle lever and mount, mount for 100A breaker and fuse, and a rather complicated battery box.

You got it right. All the parts are common parts for what we try and build.

The pulleys I would suggest using real pulleys as well as real motor mounts. It's much safer and you can count on it not falling apart on you going 20mph.

Nobody has STL files on it just yet. I'll be working on a few designs and will release it on thingiverse that way people can use it for free. I'll release belt covers + enclosures if they wanted them.

These boards are great for commuting. I use it everyday and it never gets boring.

Sweet, sounds like a nice project.

I could model a motor mount into a printable file faster than it could be uploaded, but while 3D printing is awesome, it's not the technology you want. If you don't want to cut some 6-8mm aluminium for the mount, make one out of cardboard and then use illustrator to draw it up. Draw it exactly as you want it, then you can send the .ai file to any laser cutting place and they will be able to cut it out for you. Laser/CNC is the technology for flat plate materials that you want, not 3d printing.

As for the pulleys, nylon may be strong enough for the driven, if you found a model that had a beefed up wall thickness, but it won't be good enough for the drive pulley, it will pull apart and shred if you start putting any real power into it. Pulleys are cheap, just get some when you get the belts, you will already be getting shipping/going to the store. That being said, a good SLS printed drive pulley *might* be strong enough if printed solid, but probably not cheaper...

Edit: Didn't check the batts, but yeah, as below said, go a higher c rating. It makes the work on the batteries so much less. I run a total of 10,000mah at 20c (2 zippy 5000mah 20c batts).
 
I would recommend different batteries because those are rated to 10C constant and 20 peak. go with at least 20C const. in my opinion.
 
you need the esc programer card.
the settings on the hobbyking suck... you have to change them to get the uncogging to stop, by setting the timing on high, otherwise it will throw you off, also the start is better at mid and the breaking at 60% rocks

i bought all the mecanichs parts, sadly from enertion shop...
(not enough time and money for building them by my own).

Ah, i forgot to say that i moved to switzerland, in the Alps...
so the roads are no longer flat, and therefore i changed my gear ratio.
(and that's why i had that huge delay on the schedule)

At the moment i have two 7000mha 6s lipo 25c and a 130kv 63mm rated for max 10s from alien power system.

I'm planning to buy a Vesc, maybe in one month.
Having the possibility to get new batteries should i buy a 10s setup or a 12s.

What should i upgrade, what should i change for having the most out of my money? :?
