Using "Gun"-style RC throttle? Might be issue with cops...

I was showing a nice British man my eMTB setup, showing him the throttle (Quanum 2.4Ghz 3ch Pistol Grip), when he brought up a worthwhile issue--that the throttle looks enough like a gun to maybe confuse or give a cop an excuse to use his. I kind of laughed it off at the time, but since then, after watching some disturbing Ytube videos about whats going on in the news lately with law enforcement--I thought I'd share. Luckily, I live in an area where the police are not agro like that, but, you never know...nighttime, etc.? I removed the steering wheel from mine too, like a lot of you, so it looks even more gun-like. But all-in-all, youd have to be a pretty stupid or trigger-happy cop to be a problem. Sill, I think I might spray paint mine orange.

You could wrap an LED strip around it, which would make it look less like a gun. It would also be a great safety feature for riding when it is dark out.

painting it is a pretty good idea- led strip is awesome two.

combine the two and you are carrying around a neon orange and flashing light gun shaped object, lol.

In all seriousness, I like both ideas- the painting one especially. No one is going to shoot you for thinking you neon orange (sorta) gun shaped thing is a real fire arm.

Exactly my concern as well. I removed the wheel and got some odd looks while riding. I thought about painting mine at one point, and then repeatedly got frustrated at the battery life (lack of)... So i ended up switching to GT2B badwolf instead.

Sucks you guys are having issues with the design. I don't get too many stares regarding that controller.. Although, I did use the GT2B much more often.

I'm in SF too and more chances than not people are more interested in the board more then my controller.

The smaller control size on my new controllers works wonders though. Such a relief not having to lug around a big GT2B.

Glue one of these to the end of a flash light, velcro/zip tie/glue the flashlight to the throttle.

We really need a slide puck/transmitter with a rocker style throttle on the edge. Sliding is still the quickest way to come to a complete stop plus the added stealth of not having a visible throttle would be a plus.

haha, imagine the look of pedestrians when you stop at a crosswalk.

I cut the upper part of this thing, and installed PCB in the handle. This is how it looks now: http://imgur.com/a/t6ZRz
Sorry for bad pics, it's charging atm and my workshop is kinda dark. Although most firearms are illegal in my country I think I'll paint mine too.
