Europe Part Supply!

Post by Mathieu » May 30 2016 5:29am

Hello!

When i started getting into electric skateboards it was quite difficult to find good and cheap resources in Europe, especially shipping (I'm located in Belgium). Now i have found a good supplier i might be able to set something up to get cheap drivetrain parts to other people in europe. I can get HTD belts and steel pulleys in almost every size. Would there be enough interest from you people in Europe to get this going? Most of the pulleys would be around 9-15 euros and the belts around 8-12 euros. Shipping up to 100gram (2-3 parts) is about 4 euros and up to 350 grams 7 euros. For Belgium shipping would be a lot cheaper.

Let me know!

I dont see a single english thread/forum section on your site and I dont see it happening, because you started with a 100% french crowd. from experience I can say that people will not just start posting english, especially not a french crowd. :p

hey white, you are definitely right, there are not a lot but this is really how it has been built from scratch. Initially all my blog posts were in English (or sort of) but then I went to french because there was a need to help french folks out there and spread the DIY in french language. But when we have a non french joiner, this does not cause any problems to our community, especially because only few members don't speak english. So there's no language barrier at all, or at least it has been proven that we can break through.

Check this one : http://www.e-sk8.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=378

We are all passionnate about DIY and riding all this kind of crazy electric vehicles ! the community is so open and flexible that it will adapt itself to the environment.

Enjoy !

Salut Mathieu!

Where are you in Belgium? I'm in Brussels and interested in buying parts from time to time, and maybe we can make some kind of belgian e-skate group to ride together or so...

Definitely have a look at e-sk8.fr, plenty of good tips for Europe.

Whitepony, if you start a thread in English on e-sk8.fr, I'm sure people will keep it going in English.

cheerio

I've contacted a supplier (by coincidence the same as boosted boards!) and they can supply belts real cheap, about 8 EUR included shipping in europe! But i have to order in bulk, would the interest be high enough?

Do you guys maybe know a place where i can buy wheels ? The abec clones from ebay are cheap, but shipping costs are too high.

It's not europe, but I'm in Australia and this american site is the best I know for mechanical parts. They basically have everything for decent prices, shipping can add up though. https://shop.sdp-si.com/catalog?GroupID=342

I do remember something about an English place, technobotsonline or something? I purchased some steel toothed gears from there, so not sure if they stock/price on the belts.

Darn, I am looking for a set of those wheels as well.
Got a set a while ago on Ebay (UK) but only foreign sellers now so postage is exorbitant. :(

Yeah, but shipping from US to my location is 45-60$, so in the end they cost the same as from Germany...
